    Why would you beat Pacquiao?
You've followed my career. I learned how to adjust. Whatever Pacquiao surprised me with early, if I'm still around -- and I believe I would be -- I would adjust to that style and do something to make the fight totally different than what he expected. Even with Jean Pascal [who fought to a draw with Hopkins in December], the two knockdowns, I made adjustments. It's like a basketball player coming this way, he's gotta be able to make adjustments. If he stops like a deer in the headlights, he's knocked out.

I would kick his ass in the middle of the [fight]. He's a tough guy, he takes a good shot. But he's got loosy-goosy defense. He gets hit. That's what makes him so exciting, because he gets hit and he hits back often. It would be a process. Bernard might get knocked down too, but as the round goes on, as I've shown through my whole career, as [recently] as Dec. 18, as the fight goes down to those championship rounds -- six, seven, eight, nine -- that's when you'll see the best of me; after he's had some good moments in there and then the veteran in me [comes out] and the skill and all the things Pacquiao isn't used to seeing in an African-American neighborhood fighter. I'd bust him up, TKO. Referee stops it or the corner stops it. [Pacquiao's trainer] Freddie Roach will stop it. I'll say between nine and 10. It ain't no game. I'll kick his ass.

    The old 'African-American' shite again.

That African-American can't handle the things you see from a white Welsh-valleys neighbourhood fighter

I understand that you support manny since you're a bit lacking in UK talent right now, but manny isn't no white Welsh boy.

African Americans in the US have developed a regional style much like every other geographical region. I don't get pissed if he mentions it like that stylistically, as long as its without making too much of an ethnocentric emphasis on it.

He can adjust well and has a diverse skillset as a master boxer, so it's not bad reason to believe if they were the same size he'd win.

The fact that bernard is even talking about this shows how great the pac man is...:lol:.. Hopkins is just upset that pac is going to beat the hell out of his buddy shane mosley!

Actually, the reason Bernard entertained the thought is because ESPN asked him.

Bhop would have to be a MW or Light HW to beat PAC. True...Nard would make it a tough go, but he's far too inactive to beat PAC unless he landed the perfect shot. If they are both the same size and were to fight PAC would beat Nard. I don't really think Nard believes he'd beat PAC based on how he answered. He actually left room for the possiblity that he'd lose which is not typical of Bhop. He'd usually say without a doubt he'd win....

UK is far from lacking talent...
    Choose your words more carefully

Back to topic, as great as Hopkins is, he loses a disputable controversial SD which will be debated for many years (Taylor, Calzaghe)

4 world champions and an interim title holder, USA have 11 world champions (12 if you include Agbeko), we're doing substantially better per population ;-)
