I'd say manny and bob are doing the smart thing. If manny was to fight a big threat and not look good like he has been in recent fights, the potential Mayweather-manny fight won't be as buzzed.

    What other guys?:patsch

Berto just lost--ortiz would get beat worst than he did against maidana so what other guys u talking about?

Bottom line is pac has pretty much clean up the welterweight division

    Cotto-clottey and mosley next..

only other guy for Pac to fight was Berto. And Pac would've whooped him bad.

Even Berto was perceived as a bigger threat than Mosley around the time they signed to fight Shane.

He was but he was also known as somebody who hasn't fought anyone big. If mayweather still scared shitless of fighting pacquaio then i would rather see pacman vs ortiz next than pacman vs marquez.

I still see pacquaio whooping ortiz ass if they end up fighting next. So other than a mayweather fight, i don't think anybody can really challenge the pacman @ 147.

Which has turned out to be false so whats the point. I never saw Berto as a bigger threat then Mosley. He'd be an easy fight for Pacquiao.

Berto being seen as the bigger threat at the time factored into why they decided to go after Shane.

People are under estamating Mosley. Mayweather and Mora are always going to be bad match ups for him. He has all ways had trubble with boxers who use their length on him. Forest and Wright as well as the above mentioned Mayweather and Mora. Despite having wins over him De La Hoya did very well aganst Mosley as well.
Pacquio is not a boxer who uses his length he comes right at you which is the kind of boxer Mosley is at his best against.
I have not been shy about critizing Pacquiao for what he deserves to be critizied for. Such as taking easy fights and ducking Mayweather. However there is nothing to crtiize him for in taking on Mosley.

it'll be interesting to see if mosley really is "shot". He looked below average against Mayweather but Mayweather makes a lot of people look bad. I had him beating Mora rather easily but he didn't look all that good in that right either. Of course Mora has a tendency to make all fighters look boring because of his style.

I too think that Mosley is vastly being underrated here. He's not just a clown who will get knocked out early. There's no denying that manny chose to fight Mosley at an extremely opportunistic time though.

JMM aside, Mosley is the most competitive fight out there for Manny.

I think the winner of this will next face Paperface 2011 champ Cotto IF he wins against Margo.

However, sometime in the near future unless Sugar Shane does the KO job on Emmanuel, the big match with $ Mayweather has to happen.

Berto is a pure example of overhype Bum, Ortiz exposed him as a BUM.

You guys are saying Berto is a bum now, but back in December he was the most dangerous option at 147

there's a difference between being ranked and being dangerous. berto was ranked but not as dangerous compared to even this version of mosley.
