The likes of GSP and Silva get cuts of the pay per view...they're doing fine. Hardly being paid peanuts.
Soviet Bloc is not the same as Eastern Europe dumbass - the Warsaw Pact countries were largely in Central Europe with Eastern Europe being the USSR proper. Poland and Solvenia always considered themselves part of Central/Western Europe while the idea that Germany is Eastern Europe is just bizarre. And Berlin was not the line between East and West - West Berlin was an enclave for the FDR and the Nato-Warsaw Pact border being further West. Romania is perhaps a judgment call but as a Latin country it always looked to Western Europe over Eastern. Kazahkastahn is not part of Europe - it may have cultural links but its clearly in Central Europe - Turkey and Russia are transcontinental countries because part of their terrority is within Europe.
You speak of Lesnar as though he is the norm. He was a rare exception in UFC to get paid much higher - now exposed as a hype. It is a joke that a fighter with 3-4 fights can get a shot at a title in UFC that says a lot about the depth of talent . Besides where you are getting this Lesnar got $12million number from? Unless you had trouble adding...and you mean 1.2 million for 3 fights. Lesnar fought Mir, Carwin and Velasques in 2009-2010. He was paid 400K against Mir, 400K against Carwin, 400K. That does not add to 12million it adds to 1.2 Million. 400 K for UFCs biggest heavyweight fight ever is peanuts compared to boxing excess of $30million top fighter. Most UFC fighters reputation as fighters are very inflated just like the $12million you claim Lesnar got paid. He got paid a measly 400K/fight. UFC is a bubble.
They put the prelims on for Mayweather-Mosley card on regular HBO. Honestly, I don't know why. Perhaps those undercards are so attrocious usually that putting them on would be bad. I've always wanted HBO to put on the prelims after the main card has ended if it ended early to fill out the rest of the time slot.
I like both sports, boxing is my first love.. but UFC does **** so much smarter than boxing. I really wish boxing would take some ideas from the UFC and implement them. 1st thing 1st.. eliminate half the weight divisions!
I'm leaning towards Boxing now that I've gotten more into but I also love both sports. I also love kickboxing It's refreshing to see a boxing fan like you who doesn't think that MMA is boring.

UFC can put prelims for free because they will be good competative match ups that will attract more viewers to the PPV and fans in general. Boxing prelims would actually lose boxing fans because boxing undercards are so ****. UFC is an event, boxing is a mess. Only Pac and a few others will fight on cards which are events. The cards are stacked from top to bottom, expo, weigh in, fight, countdown, primetime etc are all part of an event and they are present for pretty much every UFC event. I could go on forever as to how much boxing messes up. Everyone involved in boxing is messing it up.
ever heard of the klitschko brothers? dominating the HW division as we speak. Anderson Silva who is considered the P4P #1 got around 200K in his last fight or if it was the fight before that either way Silva doesnt get those huge pay checks
And Silva actually campaigned to get a lower base pay in return for a higher cut of the pay per view.
