what big threat? berto was unproven and did not look like a great fighter losing to ortiz. pac would've destroyed him, got no credit, for much less money. bradley and khan have had plans on fighting each other for a while, and that is the fight both guys, and the fans want. really martinez is the only threat but that weighed 22 lbs more than Pac in his last fight and has been fighting at middleweight the last couple of years.
This stuff about Berto getting his ass kicked AFTER manny-Mosley isn't even open for discussion. They choose fights based on perceived risk AT THE TIME. Berto was much more live than Shane when they decided to make the Shane fight.
Hatton, Cotto, were all bigger threats compared to if he fought fighters from his own division, Pac dominated and still got criticized. If Pac fought Berto instead of Shane, and the Berto that showed up was the one who fought Ortiz, Berto would've looked like and amateur and people will start calling him overrated. Up to this day, I'd still take Mosely to beat Berto and Ortiz.
It's amazing how people are still brainwashed puppies by HBO. Non stop telling you that RJJ and Floyd are the greatest. Olympics. Greatest. Unbeatable. Match them vs lesser opponents. more brainwashing. They use the formula over and over and it has failed 100% of the time. Not one HBO olympic boxer has escaped. it is a nice pedigree but each heart is different. No fighter in history has the extra something like Manny. He is brutal. He loves being in the ring more than any fighter and is more relaxed than any fighter. His reflexes are the best I have ever seen in my life. I don't think there is anybody that can hang with him at 147. He has a better chance to lose vs Mosley than vs Mayweather. You have to knock him out to beat him at this point in time.
