yes of course. you answered my question yourself "people who should consider themselves boxing fans will more than likely know who he is" its as simple as that if ur a avid boxing fan ul know who all about him. and yes unfortuneatly boxing is a fringe sport in england but if ur a fan ur a fan regardless of where your from. its just that in europe and england us fans are more sparse. you guys lucky in america you get alot of quality boxing on tv that we just cant get
Right. Pacquiao is popular with all sports fans everywhere in the US. Even among non-sports fans, anybody that is even halfway well-read knows who he is by now.. he's been on TMZ, like you mentioned, Jimmy Kimmel, 60 Minutes etc.. that's a pretty broad spectrum of publicity for a boxer these days. IF he beats Mosley, he could be close to De laHoya popularity in America, and De laHoya was almost a household name in the '90's, second only to Tyson. What's the deal with Europe not recognizing him?
and sorry i never elaberated earlier as to what i was saying is narrow minded. i was refering to uk fans would know who manny is because of the hatton fight. yet every fan i know didnt give hatton a cat in hells chance of winning that fight and we all been in awe of manny since the morales and marquez fights. local heroes who represent your country aka hatton are good for drawibg in fans but if youve been bought up on boxing you know as much as any american who sees alot of boxing via ppv and other media source. manny is massive over here. you know why? becasue he is p4p number 1. people read into the whole country thing far to much
well yeah true. I guess you can't say anybody really saved boxing. I guess it's Oscar and then he used Floyd to keep it afloat and Floyd carried the sport for a while and now Pac is doing it.
i've seen a youtube video of a german toddler with gloves, calls himself manny pacquiao lmao, i'm gonna search for it
