I wouldn't think Hopkins is on Peds, he is just a talented boxer but Olympic style drug testing should be brought into the sport, its far too loosely tested in boxing. Look at the drug testing is sports like cycling

So typical internet response. You get cornered and come back with "oh don't tell me about your problems".

I do agree that better testing needs to be brought into the sport, but I can see why Olympic style is a pain in the ass. They should set up a certain amount of tests randomized, BUT timed out to where there isn't enough time for the athlete to get it out of their system

No....it wouldn't hurt. But it wouldn't hurt if he didn't take it either...plus it would save him some pocket change by not having to go through the additional testing measures.

Nard shouldn't have to take the tests based on JP's over dramatic attempt to get under Bhop's skin. I say everyone needs a crash course on knowing their roles. Fighters, fight!...Promoters, Promote and Commissions regulate the measures in place to ensure a fighters safety. Even if the current measures are dated.....they will be re-vamped to meet the ever growing demand to keep up with those who cheat.

Ask yourself a question that will produce a simple answer... What has Nard done in his career that makes you think he's gonna make anything easy for someone he's fighting? Nard is notorious for making negoitions, promotions and most important of all...FIGHTS, difficult for his opponent. he's not giving in to JP in any way, in or out of the ring.

So the simple answer to your question is because Nard is a difficult dude to deal with.

No it wouldn't hurt performance wise, but would be additional hassle.

    And why should he?!?!?!

It wasn't part of the contract. Just saying you want tests done is disrespectful and saying you don't trust your opponent.

You either need full testing throughout the sport or have it written into contracts that for however many months until the fight both parties will be subject to random drug testing. Just having ad-hoc requests is disrepectful, will only delay fights and make the sport look unprofessional.

"If he's clean, what's the problem" - Are we in Nazi Germany?!?!? Why should he take a test that isn't part of the rules??!! Why should he be singled out?!?! If it's part of the rules then fine. If it was part of the contract negotiation then although not great (governing bodies should provide the framework so Boxers don't feel they need additional measures) I can understand. On the fly requests after contracts are signed shouldn't have any place in the sport.

The irony of someone with a Pacquiao avatar saying they think another boxer should take a blood test and that said boxer is 'the most suspicious' :-:)patsch

Strongly disagree. He's been performing with his ring IQ and technical skills. What extraordinary physical gifts has Hopkins shown recently? Yeah he's old, but he's not knocking anyone out with speed or power, or even showing a large punch output.

That's right but he's still 46... that alone can feed the suspicious minds.

I personnally think that a lot of boxers may be on some PEDS. When there are no serious tests, you lose if you don't take some, because your opponent may be on it.

lol.....u think so? so the Hopkins that was beaten by Calslappy was the same fighter that beat an undefeated Pavik? mmmmmi had my question marks about this....Hopkins looked like he could walk through walls the night he beat Pavlik ....and ffs please dont rant on about the greatness of that feather fisted, head slapping excuse.
