Dan Rafael: I wished that Shannon Briggs "went 15 rounds" with Vitali Klitschko

So basically he wants Shannon Briggs to suffer the same fate as Johnny Owens? That is cold and disturbing....

You won't get far if you just start writing offensive stuff to him straight away. You want to lure him in. Tell him you're testing Subway's latest offering; a sub which is the same size as an actual nuclear submarine. Invite him round and let him have free rein over the meats, even offer him free double cheese, bust on some mayo, chipotle or bbq sauce, whatever floats his boat. Tell him you got an erection too when Wlad said he'd make Haye into a pizza face and thought about what toppings would be involved. Then ask him how he goes about perfecting his fine facial hair into that wonderful goatee; where did he get such inspiration? David Brent? Talk about how you'd like to pop up in hologram form too when one of the Klitschkos walks to the ring, engaging in a spot of kiss-blowing and groin rubbing when Wlad strides past. Then, once you've built a friendship so strong, just sit him down, pull on your Hayemaker t-shirt, put a bit of McFadden and Whitehead on the stereo and say:
"Dan, i fear you were rather rude about Shannon Briggs and maybe you should think about doing a diet."
It will break his heart.

 

Briggs has been saying some unsubstantiated stuff about Rafael's professional integrity. Rafael wished that Briggs suffered permanent damage in the ring.

Those are miles apart. It's fair for Rafael to respond to Briggs' comments, but not to wish harm on him. Can you ever see Rafael saying that stuff to ANYONE'S face? Of course not. Big man behind his keyboard.

End of the day one man is a professional fighter who gets in the ring puts his life on the line and is trained to punch people. the other is a journalist who writes articles and is trained to put pen to paper.

There are lines that a fighter can cross that a journo cant simply because he aint in the ring and aint earnt the right to chat ****.

And the reason its fine for us to wish death on that fat useless **** is because we arent people in any position of esteem/status whereas he is, he is much more responsible for his words than most of us will ever be.

Briggs is sueing Klitschko cause he says he never got the $750,000 he was promised. He claims he only got $25,000, but Dan rightly pointed out, he had proof he ran up a $75,000 bill.
