Maybe someone can shed more light on him. All I know is that he wasn't even the main man in BHOP's corner until a couple of years ago. He has a 1-1 record with Mosley I believe. And he loves to bring his pool supplies to the gym.

He said "Swim without getting wet" and the love for him Skyrocketed.
    Overrated imo.

He seems to be a sound strategist who works well with intelligent fighters. The things he was saying to Mosley made sense during the fight with Mayweather Jr but Mosley simply couldn't execute.

The same with Hopkins when he had Richardson in his corner. He's highly rated for his ability to build strategy and tends to work with fighters who have the basics under control and need someone to work on particular things.

He's not as rounded as the Freddy Roach and Enzo Calzaghe style of trainer who can take amateur fighters and get them into professional fighting with success but I think he's a great trainer for fighters who are at the point where they simply need assistance toning their game, rather than retraining completely.

I think he's better than the hilariously overrated Steward, Buddy McGirt and Berestain though.

What is funny is that he was critisizing trainers who say complicated stuff in the corner instead of sound advice.

Richardson is just as good, if not better than Roach. What fighter has Roach built from the ground up? Roach is an excellent trainer, however, he Roach has had the better fighter in most of his marquee matches.

Enzo Slapzaghe can't teach a figher how to throw a correct punch, but he sure can teach slapping.

"Swim without getting wet" isn't exactly complicated. More eloquent than necessary, sure, but its pretty basic. It's just a fancy way of saying the most fundamental idea of boxing - hit without getting hit.

As for Richardson's worth as a trainer, he's obviously developed quite a bit of knowledge with his years working in the corner of B-Hop. He knows what he's talking about and has his fighter's best interests at heart, and that's all that matters really.

He was able to get his fighter to exploit one of Floyd's habits. roach, who is considered a good trainer by many, wasn't able to do it like that.

Pretty much anyone is better than McGirt, since his fighters always lose.. but Manny Steward? Different strokes for different folks, but I hold Steward to be one of the current best trainers in the world.

Just wanted to randomly point out that him and Hopkins are the same age. He looks like a lot of people his age in that their athletic days seem long gone while Hopkins is still at the top of the sport. Kind of crazy.
