If he did'nt have such self belief he would'nt of been what he was. I can understand his bitterness sometimes, he was on a whole under appreciated following ali. Hes in a lot of peoples top 3, so its quite possible for him to think this. Holmes is alright, always looking out for frazier aswell, making sure hes got a few quid in his pocket

Larry Holmes has gone from being the most underrated heavyweight champ in history to, by a huge distance, the most overrated. To criticise him in the general forum is like telling the Pope there's no God.

Lennox Lewis would have knocked out Holmes in six very, very one-sided rounds.

 

oh, and Mike Tyson beat a decent version of Holmes, no matter what the disciples of this this David Ike of boxing claim. Tyson hands Holmes his ass every time.

 

I remembered Holmes getting interviewed by the BBC a few years back, and he also said that Lewis 'never fought anyone that wanted to fight back', something he's said a few times.

Which insults a huge raft of guys, given who Lewis fought. Including Holyfield and Mercer, two people that would pitch a fit if you said they didn't want to fight back.

Holmes is a grade-A talent, one of the best heavyweights ever. Doesn't stop him from being a grouchy jerk too often. Those very close to him say he's very loyal and funny, and I can believe that...why he's so mealy-mouthed publicly is disappointing.
