i certainly hope thats a sarcastic post, fight was terrible end of, excitement was non existant and quality was shocking, gsp was afraid to kick aftershields caught his leg so instead threw anoff balance hayemaker overhand right for 5 rounds whichshields got so accustomed to it was irrelevant, shields then could only put together a jab followed by a right which rarely landed, i have seen better kickboxing down at the kickboxercise class across the road from me, gsp is the wlad klit of mma

yea after reading this i am more impressed by gsp's performance. The guy basically beat Shields wit one eye shut.

unlucky to get poked like that.

Philla, I know you can't be serious. How often do you see boxers and fighters fight through much worse and still do what they got to do without bitching. How about that guy who had a baby coming out his forehead earlier on, and still managed to get Aldo on his back and do some damage. Oh my, poor GSP got poked in the eye and was fighting in such dangerous conditions, against such a dangerous striker.

it's not about being bruised or bloodied or what not, it's the part about depth perception. I mean if you are fighting with one eye, then you don't know how far your opponent is. You can't shoot for a takedown. You don't know if your jab is in range. You don't know if his jab is in range...

a feotus on the forehead is gruesome but it doesn't incapacitate the fighter.

ok try broken nose, injured arm, or any of the above. The point is fighters have gone on under worse conditions minus the bitching. He still had one eye! You can't punch or do anything, because you loose your vision on one eye? With one eye, I can still go to work out, play sports, do anything I could with two eyes; maybe not as effective, or may take longer to do something, but can still do them.

he still won the fight. Maybe not as exciting, or maybe not by knockout, but he still won it. So it's the same ****

I like GSP. But he just whines too much. If some little thing doesn't go his way, ***** starts making excuses.

Just listen to Greg Jackson in between rounds telling GSP to shut the hell up and take it like a man. I just want to see someone kick someone else' ass. You'd figure with GSP's skillset he'd manage that rather easily.

Like I said before, I like the man's methods, I just prefer he had a different mentally come fight time.

Many sports, you cannot play them full stop with only one eye.

Try playing tennis, cricket or baseball with one eye. Anything that involves hitting or catching a moving object, you can't do it.

I admire GSP, but the first thing out of his mouth was to complain.
All I expect from him was to fight regardless of his condition. I understand that depth perception was important, but out of any fighter I expected him to fight, fight, fight....

yeah remember after the first bj fight his face was battered, i dont think he prepares his face for much punishment hemarks very easy

philla i respect you as a poster but i cant tell if your being sarcastic or not, if not then that is absolute bull****, gsp was still avoiding 50% of shields shots by slipping them up until the last round, why dont every fighter have this problem when they got a swolen eye, or a cut above the eye, fair enough its affected but not as much as what they are making out, come on this is a combat sport you need to be mentally prepared that injuries will occur but you gotta get on with it, bite down, gsp didnt he panicked like a scared french *****, disgraceful behaviour from a p4p elite in front of 55,000 of his own fans, absolutely shocking stuff, i think its safe to say gsp aint got no mexican blood in him

Guys when you cant see from one eye, in the heat of the moment, GSP probably thought he was blind. That would make you panic and no amount of money Dana can pay him that would have him trade one eye. In saying that GSP has the soft personality and thats not going to change. Hes the ultimate nice guy and as long as he steps in the cage to defend the title against the best, no one should question his courage. Hes soft, hes a baby but hes a great fighter.

this is what i was thinking when i was watching, especially when he was being interviewed by rogan, stillthough if you thought you were blind i woulda been this could be my last fight better make it a good one, it will always hang over his head though and certain fighters could take advanatage of his softness
