Time him with counters and a fighter has to be busy on his feet as well and not remain in one place. It could be a good strategy but ofcourse, it's easier said than done..

Today noone beats him at welterweight. History has shown the best way is to take it too him intelligently and time your attacks as morales and jmm did, take it to him unintelligently as diaz, margo and hatton did and you're getting an ass kicking.

Another way would be to box behind a solid jab as cotto did early on, just make sure you can readjust later on when manny is still coming on strong.

I must admit, the list of welterweights throughout history who i'd favour over pac is decreasing with every fight. If he knocks out mosley and ortiz i'd say he's the best actual welterweight of our era.

The only problem pac has is identifying a weightclass to rank him atg based off accomplishment and not h2h.

The only other successful weight jumpers in history established themselves at their main weight, manny never did this at sbw and I don't think he fought enough in any other weight to be classed an atg in that weight.

Interestingly enough i'd say welterweight or superfeatherweight are his best weights, and he looks better now than he did then.

Since oscar v tito at 147 there is not one welterweight i'd make a clear favourite over pac.

Before then as it stands i'd make hearns, leonard, duran and whittaker favourites. No point going back any further since he hasn't eclipsed those names yet.

Keep moving to the left keep that distance make the kid reach and lunge in and counter throw that right down the pipe and left hook would also be nice keep moving your head and body circling jabbing maintain that distance dont stand still.Watch that quick left straight and right hook.Don't try to outslug Pac coz you get peppered with too many damn shots and from every where.

It wouldn't have mattered if Shane was in the best shape of his life. Floyd just doesn't get hit alot. That is a fact. Floyd's flaws? Let's talk about Manny's flaws. Leaves his hands down to much, lunges in to punch, hands remain down after a combo, and lastly defense. So your telling me Floyd can't exploit that? Especially lunging in. He would get countered every time.

i think Manny has become a complete rhythm fighter at WW which is why it could be his best weight class. he is doing a little bit of everything and making adjustments establishing blinding speed with his left and more importantly a sharp right hook.
He reads fighters better than ever and wastes absolutely no energy whatsoever.

The only way I can see beating him is by changing the tempo and baiting him to the ropes then using angles making him pay for being there. So far everyone has tried to trade with him on the ropes and been outlanded each time. You have to force him away from the center of the ring and off his toes.

Great analysis. It means you are saying there is absolutely no way to beat Pac @ 147.

It can't be coincidence the two best welter's Floyd faced, one knocked him down in round 2 and the other nearly knocked him out in round 2 coming from out of the ring for 16 months. Manny will not let him off as easily and there is much more to Pacquiao to figure out than all the Welters Floyd has faced combined.

Pacquiao makes his own adjustments. Floyd does not have a busy enough offense and for the first time will not have the combined advantage of speed and endurance in his favor. In fact he will be second to Manny in both.

I don't even consider Floyd at 34 or older even a threat to Manny. He is the last fighter that will simply let you make adjustments. There are angles and an overall uniqueness that is very very hard to prepare for and deal with.

It should be noted that you consider Pacquiao #1 All-Time at 147lbs...why would you consider Mayweather a threat?

Anyone who has seen Mayweather's last two performances knows he is a threat to stopping Pacquiao's great run. Inactivity could play a part, but we don't know that until Mayweather finally steps back in the ring (if he does). Throwing ages about as if they are significant is pointless, Mayweather is a young boxer in terms of punishment/damage he has taken throughout his career.

And vise versa, anyone who has seen Pacquiao's last 2-3 performances knows that he is a threat to Mayweather's undefeated record.

Based on both their most recent performances, both are head and shoulders above anyone else in the sport.

Daaaaaaammmmmm. That is a pretty bold statement. Not a threat? If Floyd has to throw more punches to win he will do it. Ask Ricky Hatton when Floyd was throwing 5-6 punch combos at him. One thing that Floyd does better than most is adjust. His ring IQ is second to none. The fight will be decided on timing and ring IQ. Floyd has Manny beat in both of those areas.

Mayweather is not at his best @ WW. he has little experience and in 3 years only fought one true WW in Mosley. if he did not have that complete lapse in defense in round 2 I would agree. If they do fight it could be 4 years when they face with Mayweather fighting one WW in that time.

Floyd has not taken punishment but at the same time avoided the fighters who are the best at giving and receiving it which would work against him in this type of fight. Just too much of an unknown in how he will deal with the relentlessness of one of the best offensive fighters. That unknown coupled with his lack of power at the weight does not intrigue me like it does everyone else.
