Major Opportunity for Boxing to be pushed in the UK.

The last major football matches of the season (Cup Final, Champs Leage, Play offs) will be finished on the last week of May. Only the European Under 21 Championships which is on ESPN until the Charity Shield on August 7th.

So its a great opportunity for Sky to push boxing to the forefront especially with the fights coming up.

Thats 10 50-50 fights so far. With domestic dates needed to be filled for July 23rd and July 30th theres plenty of fights to fill the gap. Hopefully there will be more wednesday fight nights.

Matchroom will look to get Darren Barker out again. His mandatory will be Andy Lee but that wont happen. Paul McCloskey and Lee Purdy will also be looking to return. I would imagine there will be another Prizefighter in July to.

Frank Warren Murray vs Mitchell unddercard is yet to be announced. We could see DeGale or Gavin on the undercard in meaningful title fights following May 21st. Stephen Smith vs Martin Lindsay is in on the table. He also has the Walsh brothers and Enzo Macceranelli's return at Light Heavy will at least be intruiging.

Hattons have been pushing for Matthew Hatton vs Souleyme M'Baye which would be for the WBA interim Welterweight title and there have been rumours or Rendall Munroe vs Guilermo Rigenderoux for the same belt at Super Bantamweight. Denton Vassell, Anthony Crolla and Gary Buckland and Scott Quigg are all domestic title fighters that will be looking to fight before the end of the season.

Maloney only has the Liverpool card lined up but will be due dates. His cards have been lackluster recently but he has Gary Skykes, Jason Booth and Stuart Hall holding domestic belts. Booth vs Frampton would be a fight to get most excited as would Skykes vs Buckland although difficult to make with the Hattons-Maloney fued.

Hennesey has won the purse bids for Derek Chisora vs Tyson Fury which will have Ashley Theophanes British title defence on the undercard. Would be perfect on Sky but may end up elsewhere (Primetime/Premier)

Would be nice to see all of these before August.

We will also see Goldenboy putting on a big PPV card July 30th which will feature the likes of Morales, Maidana, Katsidis, Guererro etc.

Looking like its gonna be a fun Summer.
