As usual McVey tries to minimize the damage to his idol by not listing the facts!!

Johnson was 185 pounds when he fought Gardner, which was less than a year before Choynski Ko'd him in three rounds. It is highly likely Johnson was well above the super middle weigh limit of 168 pounds when he was stopped by Choynski, so cut the BS. No Johnson was not a super middle when this happened. Besides chins do not improve much as fighters go up in class. The reverse is true.

As I said before Johnson was Ko'd by a super middle, and as champion over 200 pounds out boxed ( not out slugged ) by O"brein a supper middle, and floored by Kethcel another super middle.

As usual The Chief of the Jack Johnson Hate Police , Mendoza/Mendacity , lies and distorts the truth.

Jack Johnson fought Jack McCormick on the 20th of April 1900 Johnson weighed 168lbs.

Jack Johnson fought George Gardner on the 31st of October 1902, he scaled 185lbs.

That is a time lapse of 2 1/2years

Jack Johnson fought Joe Choynski on the 25th of February1901.

So between the Choynski and Gardner fights there is a time lapse of

    20 MONTHS

Between the McCormick and Choynski fights there is only a 10 months time lapse

Given that Johnson scaled 168lbs for McCormick,I think it is reasonable to assume he was around the super middle limit, when he fought Choynski 10 months later.

NOTE .JOHNSON FOUGHT GARDNER 20 MONTHS AFTER THE CHOYNSKI FIGHT
But don't expect any retraction, or admission of a mistake because Mendoza does not do

    " I WAS WRONG"

Well, my little rabid hater, my last post corrected your vitriolic lies.
    Now to address your grammar.
Johnson never fought "O brein, Kethcel or any other supper middle"

Get your head out of your arse ,and start learning to write the ENGLISH language.
We have many posters on this forum, from all over the world , people for whom ENGLISH is a second language , EVERYONE of them can write a sentence in ENGLISH better than you, you have the writing ,and spelling acumen , of a ******ed Chimp.

What do they call it in your country, 5th grade? Did you miss it, like you somehow missed all my red flashing PM's and my open letter to you?

    It simply won't do Rainman.:patsch

Johnson never fought Ketchel, O'brien, or any super middle? As usual a type of where you hang your hat as there is only one p in super. Now that your last leg to stand on has been kicked out, here are the facts.

Just so you know the weights when Choynski KO'd Jack Johnson were approximately thus:

    Choynski listed weights from 1900-1902 ( 163, 169, 165 ) average weight = 165.6!

    O'Brien 162.5 pounds listed.

Its clear these guys would be super middle weights today. One knocked Johnson out, the other made him look very bad in a draw. Johnson had height, and weight in both of these matches!!!! How embarrassing.

Ketchel was listed 170 1/4, take away the cowboy boots and clothes he used for the photo to make himself look bigger, and he might be below 168 too. Of course Ketchel who looks terrible in that fight floors Johnson with the first meaningful punch he landed in the fight.

    Agree here.

But you said, " The fact that Johnson was a super middleweight himself, when he was kod gets conveniently forgotten! -Mcvey "

I say BS. He was gaining weight, and very likely over the super middle weight limit ( 168 ) when he fought Choynski. Somewhere between light heavy and cruiser. This is what you should admit. So deal with it, unless you can show me weights of Johnson at 168 pounds in 1901. We known he was 185 pounds in 1902. You are denser then Lenny from of Mice and Men...and we know your a cowardly mouse.

    See ya Lenny:hi:

I prove you are wrong but you cannot bring yourself to admit it.

You said in your stupid post that Johnson fought Choynski AFTER he fought Gardner, and that ,because he scaled 185 for Gardner 20 MONTHS LATER , he must have been over the super middleweight limit when he met Choynski.

As everyone knows, except ******ed you , Johnson fought Gardner 20 months AFTER he had fought Choynski. Simple really, you ****ed up big time, deal with it.

Johnson weighed 168lbs ,10 months prior to fighting Choynski.
    THIS WE KNOW.

Choynski's weight fluctuated [that means it altered:yep], but, as early as 1899 he was scaling 169lbs for fights.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE ****, YOU MUST FEEL NOW .
THE HUMILIATION. MUST BE INTENSE :oops::oops::oops:

AND NO ONE DESERVES IT MORE THAN YOU. ****ing Rainman:lol:

I feel an open letter to the Forum coming on , highlighting this grievous error on your part , but in the interests of not persecuting the afflicted,I shall try to resist it.:happy
N .B.It's Lennie by the way ,as in Lennie Small,[I did Mice & Men for my English Lit exam] :good

I Don't see him beating any of them. He is hardly tested against fighters of that calibre, in addition to the fact that his style was most dependant on a certain ruleset, perhaps more so than any other ATG.

I am going to contact some people, but I highly doubt Jack Johnson weighed more than 175lb when he fought Joe Choynski. Johnson was nowhere near his prime when he fought Choynski. Jack Johnson later grew into a 210lb man.

reports on johnson's earliest fights describe him as a flat chested "stringbean", some early photos prove this.

that's the conclusion one is left with. for me, it still does not forgive the Choynski loss. Furthermore, it is odd he put on 40 pounds, largely of muscle, after the age of 23. Juicing?
