This article is beyond idiotic. Beating Berto does not all of a sudden make Ortiz a threat to Floyd, the flaws in Ortiz's game are too obvious. He has no jab at all and primarily head hunts, with little regard for defense. He has nowhere near the technical skill in applying pressure that JLC had when he fought Floyd. Floyd will probably feel him out for a few rounds, then start drilling him with his potshot routine to an easy win if the fight gets made.

Boxrec has the Margarito vs. Cotto rematch sheduled on that same Sept. 17th day, that Floyd is now supposedly fighting Victor Ortiz on.

Now, I read rumors that the Margarito vs Cotto remacth is off, cause Margarito's eye is not "fully healed" (which would not surprise me, given the fact that Pac had Illegal Loaded Gloves, in a fight that was FIXED in his favor, so that Margo would get re-licensed, as part of Oscar and Arum's dirty bribe deal).

I think Arum "postponed" the Margarito vs Cotto rematch for two reasons:

Cotto is scared to fight Margarito, and

Arum doesnt want to lose money with SHOWTIME PPV, cause he'd be competing against a Mayweather vs. Ortiz HBO PPV match-up on the same night.

This is probably the reason that Floyd choose to fight Ortiz, cause he knows Ortiz is taylor-made for Floyd's style.

My thoughts exactly, but the pressure Ortiz put on in the Berto fight would be interesting to see against Mayweather. Mayweather probably KO's Ortiz in a rather simple affair.

If this was true we wouldnt be hearing it on "The Boxing Tribune." Mayweather Ortiz is a missmatch anyway. Floyd ***** Mayweather needs to fight Pac.

And Floyd already said all the rumors are lies.

Ortiz definitely roided up for his fight with Berto. I think he got some connections with folks south of the border to help him out in that area so he could look the part when he got the call. Of course Ortiz was always going to win as the fix was in before the fight was signed. Ortiz is being looked at as the next "golden boy". A lot of shady **** going on these days in boxing.:verysad
