Lukeo, what exactly did you see in Ortiz that made you start a thread like this? Nothing about your thread but the term EXCELLENT does not exactly fit the bill. Excellent for whom? Mayweather, the boxing fans, Ortiz? You could have said good match-up, then it might pass.

If it is a tune-up, then it is a tune-up, and Ortiz perfectly fits the bill.

But let us not fancy or sugarcoat it like it is going to be competitive at all.

If it is against Margo, or even Cotto, at least there is a factor that might work for them - size. But Ortiz does not even have that. He might be at 160 at fight time, that that is a flabby 160 like what he looked like against Berto.

It is an PPV sparring session worth at least 20 million to one fighter, nothing more.

Look, I know BoxWreck has Ortiz suddenly popping outta the cake at #3 based on his one big win at welterweight (over a guy that himself shouldn't have been #3 in any self-respecting division) but...

    Hang on...

OK. Outside of maybe Mike Jones, yeah - as good a non-Pac fight as you can get at welter for Floyd. Carry on.

You shitting me? So it'd be better if May took on Cotto right now, or freshly beat up Margo? Sorry, taking beat up leftovers is Manny's job.

It is but the one thing I don't like about this match up is ortiz inability to setup shots and traps, can ortiz put up a decent show with brute strength?

Margo and Cotto had fought longer in the welterweight division, and faced the "who's who" in that division.

Ortiz faced Berto - that's it.

And if talking about left-overs, Ortiz is a Maidana left-over and a bad way to lose actually - a no mas. Cotto and margarito are Pac's left-overs - big difference. just as JMM is a Pac left-over, or Judah as Baldomir left-over.

So much hang-up about left-overs? Ortiz did no **** at welterweight.

Bigger in weight as he is flabby. But Cotto had been a welterweight since Floyd was a welterweight. Go figure!!!! Dip****!!!!!

Truth be told, if pac had signed to fight ortiz next we'd all be praising him.

This fight is so good I don't actually believe it will happen.

    Nobody is praising nobody.

The Pac - Mosley fight is dip****. But disphit happens. He is the most marketable fighter outside of Mayweather, so he was the obvious choice.

It is still a dip**** fight. But Mosley has a miniscule chance of winning. Ortiz does not.

But *****s regard this fight as the EXCELLENT fight, then so be it. Suddenly, Ortiz is the beast!!!!! Dominated Berto (WTF?).

This is excellent in that ortiz is a prime young hungry tough top ranked fighter.

Literally the next best welterweight after pac.

Yeah but Ortiz has since come back, won some fights, and is coming off a big win off Berto, the way Floyd takes them, coming off big wins.
Mosley is coming off a big loss to Floyd, and an even more embarrasing draw (read: loss) to Mora. The way Manny takes them, coming off losses.

What more do you need to know?

Ortiz proved his meddle at WW by beating the best titleholder at the weight outside of Manny. He's 5'9" and huge, more than big enough for the weight. What you talking about man?

This dip**** is losing his mind. Don't be jealous because floyd will be fighting someone yet again coming off an impressive win.

When the last time pac did that?
