I was wondering what you guys think. I have no idea. I dont know how popular Haye is in the UK or if people are paying attention

Sure ESB is full of Haye ball lickers,:yep but what about the casual fans and PPV?

    1 million
    2 million

    what?

I can see it somewhere around 1.3/1.5m. One thing that's for sure is that Sky will hype the **** out of this fight, even for the Haye vs Harrison fight they hyped it as if it was Ali vs Foreman. Having said that a lot of buys will be by pubs and they will have to pay far more than the £15 that a household would have to pay.

There's a limit to the UK boxing PPV audience. When I said that Haye/Wlad won't be much bigger than Haye/Valuev a while ago, I was pretty much laughed at, but there is a genuine limit to the amount of PPV buys over here. I think it's around 1.2m. Haye/Valuev did around a million and I don't think Haye/Wlad will beat that by much, if at all.

    I'd say 1-1.2m.

Hatton vs. Mayweather did 1.2m. No way does this fight get 1.5m viewers. Wlad just isn't marketable enough, unlike Mayweather, and Hatton was a bigger star than Haye is. That fight was enormous.

We'll see, because it's a heavyweight bout I think it could make the difference. I think Vitali vs Williams was PPV, you wouldn't know what numbers that got? Clearly nobody expected Danny to win, he wasn't an elite fighter nor was it hyped like a Haye fight but still.

I could see a lot of Irish, Welsh and Scottish non boxing fans adding to numbers hoping to see Haye get flattened, he isn't liked buy a lot of those people and could see big numbers pay knowing there is a good chance he will lose.

Wlad just isn't marketable enough in your eyes ever. Cut the bull****. If Sky and Haye promote it right it could be big over there. Can Haye & Sky go the job is the question Jack. And Wald is marketable over there, just needs to be done right. That is called PR marketing over here, you get it too enough people through magazine ads, tv commercials, Newspaper clips.
In other words Jack, get the message out properly and people will buy.

Its called Marketing Jack, Mabye Haye & Sky are not good at that?
I have ran my own maintenance/electrial company for 20 years and marketing makes all the difference. Does not matter what your marketing, Just has to be done right. Once again...Can Haye and Sky do the job?

    Peace

The problem is, is Wlad the type of personality who makes good TV stories, newspaper articles and so on? I don't think he is. For one, he's too likeable. You can't have the good guy being the foreigner. That doesn't work. People need to love one and hate the other for a fight to sell, but the more coverage Wlad gets, the worse off the fight is because people will warm to him. It's better off to let Haye do all the promotion in the UK and let Wlad be 'Drago'.

To sell a PPV, you need two things. One is a fighter to back and the other is a fighter you want to lose. The more coverage Wlad gets, more people will turn away from the fight because he isn't a freak show like Valuev or a hated figure like Harrison. He's just a decent, well spoken guy but that doesn't sell tickets.

This fight is not on the level of Hatton-Mayweather (1.2 mil).

Around 1 million seems about right.

    Oh my god :patsch

Haye said, he is a superstar in the UK! And Haye get´s 50% because of all his **** talk and now you will tell this story? Because of Wlad the PPV does not work?

The truth is Haye is not this superstar. Without trashing Klitschko nobody cares about your boy David Haye.

So Haye can be lucky that he get´s this fight with 50:50.

Cannot wait for the big KO from Wlad. Wlad worked on himself becomes Champion again, he is not a cheap talker, Wlad is a real and great Champion!

Isn't that the equivalent of like 3 million in in N.A.?

What is the British record? Hatton-Mayweather...how many buys?

edit: seen the answer. Around 1 million will be huge regardless.

It won't be a poor number. I didn't say anything like that. I just don't think getting Wlad on TV makes sense because he's the good guy in the build up to the fight, but no British people are going to cheer against him. Wlad can't really help sell this fight, unless he talks about his hatred for Haye, how he'll knock him out and so on.
