There is a rivalry, you know kinda like Puerto Ricans from La Isla and gringo New Yoricans got a little rivalry. Because of different demographics and economic systems, there tends to be a rivalry. But they will stick together when it comes to PR vs MEX. :good

but to answer the thread starters question, I would say...

Marquez by very late TKO in a great technical battle

Rios would TKO EL Titere in the 9th while being behind on the cards

At a catchweight of 150 Alvarez might be too big for Ortiz but who know Ortiz really suprized me in the Berto fight. I'll pick Canelo.

JC Chavez would KO De La Hoya Prime vs Prime. I'm sure the Golden Boy would have his moments but a prime Chavez would break him down.

As far as Vargas vs Margarito, man this is one I really would of like to of seen. I think Vargas has the better technique and would have the edge in a SD or a Draw. A true Fight of the decade. But wait Margarito was born in the USA so either way the Chicano wins...

Oops I forgot the Salido vs Garcia. I think, the Salido that dropped Lopez could take out the best Garcia has to offer. Being that Garcia is just not there yet, Salido by late TKO.

i dont think garcia is better than gamboa right now, nor is he better than juan ma right now but his style against salido would be fun to watch. i think his power wins him the fight late but it would be fun.

There are many Mexican Nationals that come to the US and try to claim they are from Spain as well . " Mientras tienen un nopal en la frente " I've seen ignorance on both sides, Many Mexican Nationals will automaticlly assume just because one lives in the USA you are a rich snob, when in most cases it's far from that.

But you know what that's just the nature of being Mexican, you have to have a rival. Even with in Mexico there are great rivalries like Barrera vs Morales Norte vs Sur, Michoacan vs Durango, este barrio contra ese barrio, etc....

Marquez is still much too crafty for Guerrero who isn't a big puncher. Marquez however would have a more difficult time with Rios because he does have plenty of pop. Rios would be like the "Baby Bull" from the first Marquez fight but with 5 times the power. That would be a very dangerous fight for Marquez.

Rios would be too much for Vasquez who'd make it interesting early because of his sound boxing skills. Rios would eventually wear him down and score a late TKO.

It's difficult to say how good Gacia is right now because he hasn't had a big fight against a quality opponent yet. Therefore he's hard to gauge. I'm not saying he couldn't pull it off, but right now the safe bet is the proven vet Salido.

Alvarez-Ortiz would come down to the wire. Ortiz has more talent, but I have this feeling Alvarez will shine when he's pushed to the limit. Even in a loss, I think he'll impress. I'd go with Ortiz at this stage.

Chavez would win a 7-5, 8-4 type decision. Oscar would win some rounds early but fade late like he did against Miguel Angel Gonzalez at junior welterweight. Gonzalez was a poor-poor-poor man's Chavez, and he had success late. And yes Oscar had plenty of pop at junior welter but prime Chavez had that rock-solid chin.

True it goes both ways.. In high school lot the Chicanos look at the Mexican nationals as bacwards and not with it/not cool , even adults think that way.. If me or my buddies(chicanos) go to a all Mexicano Cantina we wont be welcomed and are looked at as pochos, most likely a brawl will hapen especially once the booze starts hittiing every one, Mexicanos dont like outsiders in their bars and that includes Chicanos. There are exceptions especially if us pochos are speaking spanish and being cool with them, but usually it dont happen that way.... Go down to non resort Mexico town with a chip on your shoulder:patsch Forget about it Chicanos wont make it back home:nono

Chacon vs Morales at Fw or JL- Erik Morales by UD at 126. Chacon by UD at 130
Morales is the better boxer overall, but at 130 Chacon carried his power much better than Morales and think that would be the difference at 130.

Tapia vs Rafa Marquez at Bw- Rafael Marquez by UD
Rafael Marquez is the better boxer overall, Tapia uses his speed to win a good amount of rounds, but Marquez' power and boxing ability gets him the win via UD.

Mando Ramos vs Jose L Ramirez Lw- Jose Luis Ramirez by UD
I rate JLR the better fighter. Got him winning by pretty wide UD. May'be even stops Ramos late.

OLivares vs Manuel Ortiz at Bw- Manuel Ortiz by SD
Tough fight. Damn, good entertaining fight. Toss up. Gotta go with Ortiz though by SD. On the outside Olivares would be too slick, and too crafty, but as the fight wore on and Ortiz is able to get on the inside. I think his short punches would get him rounds and just enough to get a SD. Real tough 50/50 fight that if they fought 10 times both men would win 5 times.

Carbajal vs Ricardo Lopez at Jfly- Michael Carbajal by UD
Same as above. Tough fight, we all know...or at least should, Lopez was a damn good fighter. Did it by the book somebody everybody should follow. I think though the move up to 108 would have done him in though against somebody like Michael Carbajal. So, I would fancy Carbajal winning by a very razor thin UD, may'be even SD.

Arreoa vs Manuel Ramos at Hw- Cristobal Arreola by KO
Arreola by KO. I think Arreola would rollover Ramos in the mid to late rounds.

Bj Flores vs Saul Montana at Cr- B.J. Flores by UD
Every notable Cruiserweight he fought, he got KO'd. Looked good against weaker competition...FLores isn't all that great, but I do think Flores would do enough to win by pretty wide UD.

Cuevas vs Palomino at WW (Palomino born in MExico raised Cali since a kid)- Carlos Palomino by UD
Too bad this fight didn't happen. Instead it's just a fantasy matchup, tough 50/50 fight I guess I would go with Palomino due to his inside punching and Cuevas too wide with his punches at times. Not to mention, Palomino had a good beard, but below average D. He has the skills, but flatfooted. Eh, tough fight to call, but yea I would go with Palomino by decision. May'be even a late stoppage.

Yaqui Lopez vs Andrade at LH (both born in Mexico raised in Cali)- Yaqui Lopez by default
Andrade hasn't fought anybody of note at 175, so Lopez by default.

Tony Ayala vs Margarito at JM- Tony Ayala by UD
Ayaya I think would be too much for Tony and would may'be even KO him in the late rounds.

Danny Lopez vs Barrera at Fw- Danny Lopez by UD
Tough fight. MAB has the edge in boxing ability and speed, and what not, but I think is instinct to fight screws him here against Little Red. Brawling and slugging away is Lopez' game against Barrera and I think Lopez takes it by SD because Barrera likes to fight. If Barrera stays patient from the outside I think he takes a UD, but at some point he would want to fight and Lopez would score and may'be even KD MAB a couple of times.

I saw all of Chacons big fights at Jl and he was more slugger than boxer at JL.. Was too young to see his fw fights, but my dad went to many of his fights back in the days. and says Chacon was a much better boxer then and didnt take as much punishment. I think at Fw Chacon was faster than Morales.. Have to get his take on this on Saturday when watching the big fight..... At JL im not sure:think You made good points, i can see Morales taking a close decision.. But in a toe to toe slugfest Chacons harder punching would give him the edge.. Man this would be not just fight of the year but a fight of the century!! What a ****ing fight this would be!!!:bbb

Rafa and Tapia even matched wont argue with you on this i can see Rafas harder punching taking this though.

Actually Mando Ramos was the better fighter than Ramirez.. But Ramirez the more accomplished.. Mando never lived up to his potential.. On his best day he decisions and outboxes the Plodding but Big punching and tough Ramirez... Ramos comes in any less than 100% and he probably gets stopped on cuts and kod late after taking the early rounds.

Ortiz and Olivares is pickem those 2 along with Jofre are the greatest bw of all time

Ur right Montana lost his big wins, but also kod some former champs top contenders good enough to ko Uriah Grant, jade Scott and beat Keene, also gave Jirov a tough fight.. Although he hit harder than Bj.. i think Flores is the overall better fighter and has the better chin. I think he stop Montana late or wins a competetive decision would be a very good fight though.

I think Lopez fought just fine at 108.. I think 112 he might not have been as effective.. But i see him surviving some rocky moments with Carbajal and wins a clear but competetive decision, with his sharper more accurate punching and superior boxing skills. Lopez 115-113 type decision, he might have to pull himself up from a knockdown though along the way.

Ive always though Cuevas-Palomino is even matched could see this going either way..

Andrade is a big SMW so i can see him doing just as well at LH as SMW...But Lopez is a class above, much better skills and just as tough.. Lopez by wide decision. When Lopez decided to brawl though it gets real exciting.. 118-110 117-111 type decision.

Later on Ramos became a stepping stone, but was pretty dangerous in his prime beating Terrell and he also rocked Fraizer badly in the first round of a title shot, but eventually Fraizer shook it off and stopped him in the next round... THis might look like Arreolas fight with Walker... Ramos might rock him bad and give him a go , but Arreola had the much better chin and would Ko Ramos... Arreola ko 3 in a wild slugfest.

Ayala would punish margarito and land at will early.. Margo would make a surge in the mid rounds and also give Ayala all he wanted.... Put prime Tony is more accurate and to fast for Margo.. Id say he stops Margarito in the mid rounds in a war FOTY type battle. Ayala tko 9

If Barrera came in blind and cocky like he did against Junior Jones the first time,he might get iced by Lopez.. After having his way early Barrera could get to overconfident trying to finish Lopez off and Little Red would lower the boom and Ko Barrera. MAB had a great Chin, but Lopez had an even better punch.. . However the Fw version of MAB was smarter and would respect Lopez power.. I think the Fw version of MAB would outbox and dominate Lopez during the early and mid rounds, the way Sanchez did... Lopez makes a surge late though dropping MAB and almost pulling it out.. IF MAB fights smart he survives and wins a clear but competetive decison over 12... Over 15 this would be much closer and Lopez chances of a ko go up.. More times than not though ill take Barrera.

 Nope i think wed have to go up to LW and match him up with a young ODLH for him to find an even match.

BUt then again Ruben castillo from Bakersfield,Ca gave Sanchez all he wanted ... Fight was alot closer than the scorecards had it, some though Castillo might have won or earned a draw... For as dominate as Sanchez was against greats like Lopez and Gomez. He did tend to fight just hard enough to win like his fights with Castillo,Ford,Cowdell,Nelson. I think a fight with a prime Chicanito at JL would have been a good one and competetive, although Sanchez would have pulled away when he put in on high gear.

I would throw him in against Willie Pep. Or even against the guy that had Pep's number, Sandy Saddler.
