Thats a decent number all things considered!
70k at £15 a buy = £1.05Mill from PPV. i assume that was split 50/50 with mccloskey? Not quite the 1.3 million he expected from sky

what do you guys reckon? Good/Bad?

Not sure if its been posted on here already so mods delete if its a duplicate.

It's more than the 100k Sky offered for it to be on SS3

Khan isn't a PPV fighter and the fact he was trying to justify it shows 1. He's not very intelligent and 2. He's got little respect for the fans intelligence. It was a **** event, a **** fight, an irrelevant fight, a **** performance, a poor card for PPV and only sold this much because of the Irish. If his opponent wasn't Irish, this wouldve sold shitly

    huh?

How? There is only 4 million people living here compared to 60 million in Britain. I personally dont know 1 person who bought this here and most peopl I know didnt know this event was going on, so based on the law of averages i would say it sold much much more in the UK. I doubt there was anymore than 10,000 buys in Ireland...

I don't know about you Steve but there remains a sense Khan is being managed by amatuers.

Here we have one of the ten most recognisable active boxing faces in the world.

And he's still trying to get opponents on the cheap.

    I'm all for a low-cost centre....but Amir isn't a Discontinued Wallpaper Store.

Maybe they are just that dumb or maybe they have a feeling that Khan is a knock out waiting to happen and so wanna make as much money as soon as possible...

I'd like to think its because they are that dumb...

    El Payne,
You are right. I'm amazed that some people seem to still give Golden Boy credit - they did NOTHING to salvage the Manchester show.

    Adios.

I remain universally disappointed with GBP's supposed new dawn for boxing......HBO have swallowed it whole but its been a long run of matchmaking rubbish and he's failed to really build his own prospects...though Canelo may get him somewhere.

That's 70,000 fans who will think twice before paying for Khan's next PPV spectacular. His deluded, greedy, incompetent management team are sacrificing long-term success for a short-term gain.

Golden Girl's biggest problem is that HBO will just dance to their tune.

It doesn't make them actually do anything innovative, insightful..... they can just package up any old rubbish and it's on PPV at $50 a pop.

Arum is wasting them at the minute in partnership with Showtime.

Yeh getting Oscar to man a press confrence when he is jet lagged and barley has a clue whats going and coming out with crap like Khan is charging his fans £15 out of the kindness of his heart for the fight.

The only thing Oscar did all week was mumble and get pissed with Ricky....although he did talk a bit of sense after the fight.
