Cotto should rather fight Maravilla at LMW than Chavez Jr. at catchweight MW

A little update here, you're gonna love it: Bob Arum is planning Cotto-Chavez Jr. for the fall, guess what, almost certainly at MIDDLEWEIGHT as Chavez has no intentions going back to 154. But that's exactly what Sergio Martinez said on Saturday (scene), that he's ready and able to go back to LMW if the best challenge comes there, and I don't ever wanna hear the bull**** again that him vs. the no1 LMW & The Ring top10 P4P-er for the LMW championship is a BS or 'unfair' fight - it's the best possible match-up in the division, and Martinez, a former WW is out of options at MW.

Are we gonna go stupido now and demand to stop making fights like Mayweather-Ortiz, Pacquiao-Bradley, Ward-Abraham, Klitschko-Adamek or Donaire-Mares because there's a decisive favorite in these fights? The things I read in this thread are worrying as a fan.

Martinez said he can make 154lbs, so should we get Martinez-Ishida and Cotto-Chavez Jr. at MW this coming fall, or Cotto-Martinez at 154 in a great and fan-friendly showdown between the former and current no1 LMW in the world? Rhetorical question.

I agree it would be an AMAZING fight but Cotto has never demanded and will probably never demand or call someone out. Arum and co come up with his opponent and he takes it.

As long as douchebag arum sees money in pitting two of his fighters together these epic matchups will never occur.

If Bute moves down like Martinez is willing to, Maravilla by clear decision, in the middle as Maravilla would agree on a catchweight, 50-50.

I'm also curious, who would've won if Martinez hadn't vacate so Pac fought him at 154lbs?

Cotto is currently on the Ring's top ten p4p list already, is small for 154 and just no. No. He doesn't need an excuse not to fight the middleweight champion of the world. I also think he gets stomped. Also, I think he's already going to the HOF.

What the hell? He really is. How did he pull that off? Fight could be at 154 BTW if he doesn't want to make history at a custom demanded catch-weight.

    How about PBF?

much better if PBF do good on his promise to fight the winner between Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez

Cotto is way too small for Martinez. A bad, very bad matchup.

I can understand Martinez's desire to cash in against the smaller guys, but he needs to be real, and turn his attention towards the guys in his own weight.

Very intelligent observation, he always picks on midgets.

Martinez is actually smaller than Margarito plus has a far shittier KO ratio.

 A lot of people had that reaction. But, considering he won the third division title and Lopez got stopped by Salido and Mayweather is inactive...:conf. The 6-10 spots are all pretty arguable, I suppose.
