I was watching his Ringside interview and he was talking about the sweet science and how he will be looking to box against Johnson. I was also surprised by how much he boxed against Abraham. I think this is good for him because he has the most reach in the division and he should be using his reach and setting up the combinations behind that jab. He seemed to like a tear up and maybe he could possibly go back to that (who knows given the right opponent) but at the moment it seems he is approaching the game more as a boxer than a fighter. I'm wondering what made him change his approach? The Kessler loss? Maybe the fact he is getting older and wants his career last longer than it would with the fighter's approach?
Kessler loss, specifically the fact he couldve won the fight if he had been smarter. And if roger tillerman wasn't a judge as well

he seems a far more confident fighter than previously. I know he has always suffered from self doubt. Its good to see him that way but I worry he is overlooking Johnson.
Froch has shown he has the tools to fight in more than one way, he can mix it up on a fight-to-fight basis. (I'm not saying he has the adaptability of an Archie Moore, but you know what I mean.) Froch can box clever - I'd love to see what he can do with Bute and Ward.

This. Froch on the Abraham fight: "It was me in there throwing the punches, but Rob [McCracken] was there giving me step-by-step instructions. It's probably the first time in my whole career, with no disrespect to Rob McCracken, the first time I've actually listened to him from start to finish in a fight. I switch off, I do my own thing and sometimes I rely on that big punch. This time, from round 1 to round 12 I was switched on, focused and listening to Rob, and it helped."
He was back in the amateurs and early in the pro ranks but nowadays he exudes confidence, even away from the media. However, I can safely say he is not overlooking Johnson. He's treating this fight as seriously as any.
Froch's boxing skills are underrated IMO which is great for Forch because people underestimate him. I still expect that people think he is a one trick pony ie good chin good engine decent power. Froch when he wants to can dictate fights with his jab. There is a certain intangible awkwardness about him as well that you probably cant appreciate unless you are in the ring with him. The Kessler loss I think he was a victim of his own machismo he wanted to beat Kessler and he was capable of it but he wanted to destroy him in a devastating fashion to help his comparisons with Calzaghe.
