the champ? i think that he would be one of the champs, no doubt, but he should fight a war to beat vitali.still i think that he would win
Sonny with todays training and nutrition would prob be close to 230 pounds of solid muscle with that long reach and nasty Jab. he would give anyone around today hell. :good
Here is Sonny at a bulky 219lbs of solid muscle for Clark in 1968. He carried the weight well & showed solid stamina in that fight, despite his age. I think 225lbs of muscle today would be more accurate, 230lbs might not be ideal. This content is protected
The jab , the cross , the intimidation, the toughness. He would be a monster today. I think if i had to put money on anyone beating him it would be Vitali but i think thats a close fight. I am not a Vitali fan (as most of you know) but i just think their styles and attributes match up well for a close fight.
Since he crossed the Jordan, he's KO'd Dempsey, Schmeling and Baer , but had another points loss to Marshall. He'll still be an underdog to Louis if they ever meet. Unlikely though, as Louis went to the other place. Most days now, you'll find him working out in the second circle, awaiting the arrival of Iron Mike.
If Haye didn't run he wouldn't make past 1 round..if he ran, Liston would catch him by round 6...Haye was no Machen.
A prime Sonny Liston would clean up the division today. Even the Brothers Klitschko would get bombed out of there.
