Larry Holmes vs Joe Louis?

Louis late round knockout. Larry's jab works over time and he has slight lead but Louis' is doing the damage.

 

I think that Holmes would take this on points. It would be a long, brutal fight, and I'm sure by the end of it that Holmes would be wishing he had stepped in the ring with someone else, but I think he'd manage to take home the win. As good as Louis was (and I rate him as either #2 behind Ali or at #1 amongst heavy weights depending on my mood), Holmes does have a solid chin and good powers of recovery. Holmes can also fight defensively pretty well and that jab of his is going to cause problems all night long for Louis. That said, if Holmes lets his guard down and lets Louis corner him or tries to stand there and trade, I can see him getting hurt.

 

joe louis is one of the few guys who would beat peak holmes 100%, louis had the perfect style to destroy holmes. louis was smart, he had faster hands than holmes, he was a hell of finisher, he was accurate,he had stamina, he was patient ,he had power in both hands, he would hurt holmes for sure and louis would finish the job. louis was a great counter puncher and he would do it during all the fight.louis by ko or tko no question

 

Louis was all wrong for Holmes, right hand and best power combo finisher...Holmes goes out on a stretcher

Quicker hands, better footwork/far better movement, he would establish the jab and start accumulating damage.

 

I think Holmes beats Joe but hits the deck a few times. Styles make fights. :rasta

1_ earnie shavers was a great puncher with a single shot, he had no stamina, no defense,no chin and no skill.
2_joe louis was by far better puncher than shavers, he got combinations, he was the most accurate puncher ever and he was the best finisher ever. it is not only about hitting power it is about who is better puncher.
3_ joe louis had faster hands than holmes for sure, holmes had faster legs

you just have to favor joe in this one..larry was hurt by far lesser fighters and was suspicious for the right hand..joe was miles better than shavers,he would catch larry at some point and finish him faster than tyson :smoke
