HBO always favors Golden Boy over Top Rank when scheduling fight dates.

Top Rank gets a hard time scheduling a fight it wants.

When Golden Boy's cash cow Floyd chickened out against Pacquiao,

Greenburg steps in to solve the problem, but ended up fruitless.

HBO lose a big chunk of $$$ because of this flop.

It appears that Thomas Hauser got bad information and Greenburg is unfortunately not leaving HBO at this time.

 

wasn't that he thought Pacquiao wasn't worth it...HBO dissed Cotto (and, thus, Arum) so Bob took his business elsewhere.

Either way, bad move by HBO - especially since Cotto-Mayorga turned out to be a hell of a fight.

Well of course, when looking back.

At the time, you'd be a damn fool if you thought that was worthy of HBO buying.

In terms of competetiveness and worthiness, Pacquiao vs. Mosley IS NOT a good fight. So, HBO gets mad **** for buying mismatches, yet they get the most **** when they don't buy one of the bigger mismatches.

 

The future of HBO boxing will be interesting...

I hope not too much changes for the worse anyway.

 

I'm not surprised this story came from Hauser and I'm not surprised he's had to retract it. I wonder if this will just inspire him write even more obsessive and whiny articles about Greenburg and HBO.
