I think most people ( especially casual boxing fans) watch him,in the hope he gets punched senseless.
A lot of that is based on misconception and jealousy. I mean, if Khan's a ****, then what would that make the likes of Degale, Froch and Brook - guys who are 10 times more arrogant and disrespectful on TV and interviews than Khan has ever been. Anyway, the thread asks what makes him so watchable in the ring. Not what people think of his personality. Which says a lot about the people in this thread who have already bombarded their Khan-hate sentiments.
Very Athletic one of the fastest guys in the game.... When hes on he looks brilliant..He is flawed but but he is one of the most naturally talented fighters in the game... I dont think hes one of the elites.. But he has the potential to be (if his chin holds up). Id say he is around a top 20 guys right now (more or less).
TBH, i watch him coz hes a great fighter with flaws coz that actually means that the fight would be in war... hell, its freaking boring watching a perfect fighter(or near)... u will only be admiring how good he is but no thrill at all.
Ok to set things straight from a UK standpoint; Khan is only 1 of 2 active British boxers that the UK get excited about (the other been Haye). When they fight everyone knows about it and casuals (pubs/clubs will have it on the big screen sort of occasion) will try to catch it. Majority of people want to see him win over here; although there are some that love him to lose (for various reasons).
Aha....always see you posting negative things about Khan...keep up the hating....you obviously think about Khan a lot
Its funny, I was walking down my street the day of the McCloskey fight and heard a middle aged, middle-class white woman tell her friend "Oh by the way, that Amir Khan fights on tonight if you want to come over and watch it." And where I work, I get asked all the time about what happened in the Khan fight the night before.
he is a good boxer, with good skills if somebody doesnt appreciate it its because doesnt know anything about boxing or its just a hater. and i'm not a Khan fan
look at the day and age we live in, theres an international ''war on terror'' khan is a young ****stani/muslim subconsciously ppl view him as the enemy without even rrealizing it, i think his background has more to do with his popularity then his talent, his talent is average as far as i'm concerned but his background has made him who he is.
