because fighting floyd promised him £15mil+ fighting mosley it would have been an early embarrassing ko for far less. prime mosley = god.
How about this: Hatton-Mosley in 2005 at light-welter or catchweight. For my money, Mosley has never been anywhere near the same since the first Forrest fight, though he has had a couple of good performances since (I don't count the Mayorga or Vargas wins, both went long ago). and the Hatton of that year was an excellent fighter and still retained his footwork (though not his very good pre-Tszyu head movement). I think that prime Hatton beats that struggling Mosley. The Lightweight and early welterweight version of Mosley beats any version of Hatton, and the post 2007 version of Hatton loses to the post 2007 version of Mosley. Hatton deteriorated very badly - he was even stung by Malignaggi.
Mosely wide decision of about 117-111. Both at 140 prime for prime he could possibly pull off the upset but Mosely would still be favourite.
How the **** is Hatton going to last 10 rounds with Floyd at 147, but make the full 12 with a peak Mosley, who (a) hits a lot harder than Floyd, (b) is physically stronger than Floyd, (c) is a lot busier than Floyd, and (d) actually goes hunting for the stoppage much more than Floyd? What a dud of a post. Mosley by early KO, he is much bigger, much faster, much more powerful, and much better. There is no justification, stylistic or physical, for saying Hatton even lasts the full distance here.
Sorry mate, no version of Hatton beats ANY version of Mosley. Today's Mosley KO's a prime Hatton at any weight you want to put him at. I for 1 never found Hatton to be all that good. If it was not for his rabid fan base I don't believe he (Hatton) would have ever seen the lights of Vegas. He put asses in seats, which equals money, and that why he got the shots he did.
Mosleys prime was between the first and second Oscar fight. After that your looking at Mosleys former self. Just look how fast he was in the rematch with Oscar, easily as fast as Floyd and Pacman and he was doing it for 12 rounds. Oscar beat him in his prime plus when Mosley using the cream. I hope the TS isnt one of those *******s thinking Mosley is prime even today! Hatton might be underrated, but he still not on Mosleys level. Mosley by ko.
suicidal matchup for Hatton. I don't give him much of a chance at 140 either. Mosley's too strong, too fast, especially on the inside where the fight will be fought at, and it was almost impossible to hurt a prime Mosley. poor rick
