How did Pac get 120 points on 2 scorecards?

No, the fighter who gets dropped has to clearly win the round to pull a point back to make it 10-9. Fairly even rounds with a kd are usually scored 10-8.

 

No, it's not. You're making a distinction between winning a round and a knockdown. As if they're two separate things. Getting a knockdown is a PART of winning the round. Hence, it's a 10-8 round. It's only a 10-9 if the other fighter dominates the round. A guy would have to be getting brutalized for him to get a knockdown and get a 10-10 round. That almost seems impossible of a scenario.

 

No matter how many times you post it, this is not correct.

If the round is a draw, but one fighter gets a knockdown, it's pretty standardly 10-8. If you get a knockdown, but lose the round, you win 10-9.

The knocked down fighter would have to absolutely dominate the rest of the round to make it 10-10.

 

Some people have to winge about everything. The fact is Pac won every round including rd 10 but injustly had a KD ruled against him. The judges were a bit cheeky by compensating for that but the guy who called the KD has already admitted on twitter that he made a mistake. Pac was the one treated unfairly. At least now it looks like Mayweather is out of retirement the fight we all want to see should happen over the next 12 months or so.

 

From what I understand, if the refree rules it a knockdown than it was a knockdown and must be scored as such. Regardless if it was in fact a knockdown. The judges are not intittled to their opinions on the matter of what is and is not a knockdown. Only the third man in the ring has that right.

I thought Shane won the 1st round and I thought he could have been given the 6th, plus the KD (not legit but scored as such), it's difficult to comprehend Manny getting a 120 score. It doesn't really matter, but it is puzzling.

 

It does matter, not so much for this fight but that people (fans, judges and writers) will take the same understanding and judgement into closer fights.

This doesn't add up, because then Mosely would have received more than just 108 or 107. It seems that at least two judges ignored the "knockdown."

I wonder if the judges do have the power to change the score, if they feel that the knockdown was not real, kinda like a common sense clause. I have never heard of it but maybe there is a rule or did the judges apologize for their ineptness. Maybe they just changed their score after they talked to Bayless who apologized and just said **** it who cares.

 

This is the reasoning behind it and the judges shouldn't have gone making calls whether they didn't agree with the Referee or not. Was it just for the referees to do it in this case? Yes. Because it wasn't actually a knockdown. But as far as the rules go, the referee should rule all. Otherwise we could have all three judges interpreting numerous fouls/disqualifications/knockdowns/headbutts differently.

Let's just be glad it didn't have any implication on the outcome of the fight.
