i also rekon that that geale would have to much for sturm... sturm is nothing special avge work rate, only fights in his home town, with 1 or 2 more figfhts geale will beat him easy.....watch sturm avoid him !!!!!!!!

 

IMO Zibic is the fight for Geale if he's chasing more belts :good

Well its all well and good to say that Geale would outpoint Mundine if they rematch for title, as Mundine has slipped. But the fact remains that Mundine got the decision last time so Geale should want to make that up. The fight makes sense for all, but I think the promotion will be an issue. The Grange will want majority share as Geale is champion, but the reality is that Mundine is the show, and ppl buy PPV for the show.

 

I think Sturm would beat Geale.

But sadly, BOXA will likely be able to buy a challenge at the belt Geale had to go and win the hard way.

On the positive side, at least it would provide Geale with a very winnable first defence.

 

Just watched the fight then, great performance by Geale, he's a true professional.

I also thought it was good sportsmanship of Sylvester to hold up Geale's hand and point out to the crowd that he won the fight when they were booing Geale.

I scored it 118-112 to Geale - I actually found it very hard to score many clean rounds to Sylvester. I gave Geale rounds 1, 2, 4, 6-10, with rounds 3 and 12 going to Sylvester, and rounds 5 and 11 both 10-10 rounds.

Geale outworked Sylvester, and Sylvester really only used his jab and the occasional right cross/right hook that rarely landed. He did land a couple of nice bodyshots early in the fight but forgot about them after that.

Sylvester spent most of the fight shelled up looking to counter Geale but Geale avoided him beautifully. I think I scored those 2 rounds to Sylvester because in 3 Geale seemed to slow up a bit and was flatfooted, and in 12 Sylvester actually tried to push the action and Geale showed the only signs of being tired in the fight. Due to Sylvester's inactivity throughout most of the fight, that one round where he picked up the pace a bit I scored to him, although it couold have been another even round, which would have made it 119-112 to Geale.

Well done young man, I hope to see you continue with your stellar career and don't worry about giving the bottomfeeders in Australia a chance at your title.

 

As the IBF champ when does Geale have to fight a mandatory ?
Is he allowed a voluntary defence first ? and if so would it have to be someone in the IBF top 10 or top 15 ?

 

Agree, Sturm would be a much harder fight. Sylvester has apparently said he wants a rematch too.
