I fancy Jones over 12 rounds. 15 rounds is another matter all together

12 or 15, either way i like jones by dec. too big and too fast for both fighters. hagler would have the better chance of the two.

I think more times than not Jones wins a decision over Hagler, i think ROy [s best chance is to avoid engaging with Hagler, uses his legs ,lateral movement to frustrate and take a decision.. I wouldnt be suprised though to see a desperate hagler(like the one in the Hearns fight) bum rushing Jones, roughing him up and eventually hurting or knocking out the young ROy JOnes.

Im sure that Jones could take Leonard at Mw... Stronger, bigger and even faster at Mw.. I think Leonard was smarter than Jones at had that great ability to turn it up or improvise and find a way to win,, but dont htink that would work here.. Hed be outgunned,,, I think Jones jumps out to an early lead and scores a knockdown.. Leonard would probably grab a few of the mid rounds.. I think in the mid to later rounds though Jones hurts him again and eventualy gets a ko... Leonard had a great chin at ww and a solid one at mw but definitely dentable.. Jones hit freakishly hard at Mw.. Jones ko 10

You know Jones was a fantastic fighter but when did he prove he could hang in with a Robinson? Or Hagler? He probably could beat the past prime versions of them. The Robinson who won and lost the mw title every other day and the Hagler who lost to Leonard but those two at their mw best would be too much.

That might be true, but when did Hagler prove he could hang with a fighter like Jones?

Robinson proved enough and would not be mad at all, with people choosing him over Jones in a matchup, he is the ****in GOAT.

Jones outpoints both over 12. Hagler prevails over 15.

Since when did either Hagler or Robinson fight anyone remotely resembling or on par with Jones Jr at MW? You could argue Hagler did with the smaller slower less powerful past prime Leonard who beat him but who did Robinson face at MW who remotely resembles or is on par with Jones Jr? No one, the closest maybe Galivan at WW, who wasn't as good and arguably beat him in 1 of their 2 fights

True. Both beat fighters in Jones class though. Or even better ones. Jones didn´t. And no neither Hopkins - at least not that version - nor Toney - which doesn´t really count anyway since this fight didn´t happen at mw - are in the same class as prime Hagler and prime Robinson.

Maybe to inexperienced to beat these guys. Hagler could easily lose with the wrong strategy though.

No they didn't though but tell us which MWs are in Jones class so we can have a laugh. Yes Hopkins is a better MW no matter how many times you try to discredit the win, better than either Hagler/Robinson managed at MW and the Toney fight is 3months after Jones left MW, so we can assume he's in the same form at MW

If Hagler fights Jones like he did Duran he loses for sure.

    Hagler: Hearns
    Robinson: LaMotta, Fullmer

    1. Ahh so a fighter with practically no experience at MW, got ya

    2. :rofl

  15. leonard or robinson would beat rjj by decision(better skill, better chin, more heart and more stamina) and marvin hagler had too much heart and too good chin for roy jones, hagler was much greater, hagler would do pressure during all the fight, roy would do it interesting in the first rounds but marvin would tko jones late.
