Mosley didnt even try!!!.....

I always like to give fighters the benefit of the doubt, but I kind of agree with the thread. He didn't try his best. He should not be given another big fight or title fight for a long time with the way he fought, and if he is a washed up fighter as some are saying, he should not be given another big fight anyway. 54 dollars for this fight on the last day. Margarito tried against Pacman. Shane didn't.

 

Mosley had the perfect game plan until the KD at 3.

 

Mosley is so in love with his power that sometimes he forgets to fight. He was expecting that his power would hurt Manny and threw all his eggs in that basket. He might have been right, if he actually landed something clean.

Shane got out his lane though in this fight. Watch as many Shane fights as you can including the Mayweather fight and notice how DIFFERENT Shane looked in the 1st two rounds. He was trying to box, and thinking too much. He was not being Shane Mosley.

 

Mosley landed a peach of a right hand flush, smack bang in the middle of Pacs cheen and Pac ate it like it was nothing. :scaredas:

 

You know, I went and saw the clottey fight live, and here and in real life, there were the same complaints. Now I know clottey is no mosley. BUT it seems that one of manny's big strengths as a fighter is being able to prevent his opponents from pulling the trigger or fighting THEIR fights against him. And he did that saturday, even though to be honest, he didnt look that great doing it(but still good enough to win almost every round/every round)

 

Watch it again.

I reckon you assume Mosley will bring the same game plan he is accustomed to... "Go to war."

 

Well I get where the topic starter is coming from. Take Shane against Margo, he was a man possessed against a relentless pressure fighter, knowing what he did to Cotto. Surely if he actually put together some combos and pressured pac he may have had some success. What did he have to lose? he was getting beat anyways, so he may as well have lost throwing down. backing up didnt exactly help him did it?

He talked the good talk about 2 warriors going in to the ring and who gonna leave it all there, but he seemed to take a leaf out of Audley, Clottey's and Abraham's school of anti boxing.

 

Mosley has nowhere to go now. He cashed in with the two fights he wanted the most and that his business partner ODLH has been part himself witj the same opponents - Vargas, Mayorga, Mayweather, Pacquiao - it's time to set it a side and call a hault to the game.

 

Maybe in some cases, and after round 3 against Shane, due to that speed and power combination. But even before Mosley tasted power, in rounds 1 and 2, Mosley wasn't Mosley. I told everyone I know that the Clottey fight would go down EXACTLY as it did.... That is Joshua Clottey's style.

 

I wonder if they will ever have a point deductions system for fighters who chose not to throw any punches ..:think

 

Floyd fought the exact same Shane. The performance was a bit different b/c Shane was really looking to survive after getting floored. The fact that Shane really rocked Floyd, gave Shane some nerve to continue to try and fight...he was never really afraid of Floyd. Unfortunately for the people watching, PAC put fear in Shane's heart after the KD and he went into survival mode.

 

Nazim have a say on this. The game would be over before 6 if Mosley engaged Pacman.

 

Fear can be seen through Shane eyes from the initial bell to the end, he was too hesitant to get his right hand going until he got caught in the third for him to decide not to unleash it the whole fight. Mosley had a game plan, I think he just he got terrified and choose not to execute it from the moment he felt the punches of Pac in the first round..
