My definition for an A level fighter, is a fighter who got a wide talent of boxing skills, so that the boxer can adapt in fights and change boxing styles.

IMO a A class fighter, can fight all kinda styles.

Kessler is a 1-2 fighter and very good. But he cant addapt... I would like to see a Kessler stop comming forward in some fights and try some defensive tacs. And maybe show some other punching skillls besides the 1-2 jabs.

Once he had some very good combos, he showed them in the Andrade fight.. Those massive combos is gone.. Maybe thats what he need to be a A class fighter ? I dont know.. IMO Kessler keeps loosing to A class fighters like Calz and Ward. The Win against Froch was good.. And i think we can rate Froch an B + fighter.. IF Froch beats Ward in the final, then Froch is an A class fighter, cuz then he showed us that he can fight multible fighting styles.

So Ward is A-class yet he failed to adapt against Sakio Bika of all people. Ward fought the same way as he always does and his best win is against a cyclops and tainted by homecooking.

And Kessler has fought both as a counterboxer and as an aggressor depending on the opposition.

Sorry but you made a puzzling statement.

Where´s the line between A ja B -level fighters?

If Kessler is B level, then who are A-level fighters? None in SMW? Maybe Pac and May in the lower divisions and none in the heavier divisions?

Kessler also beat Thobela who was a former WBC champ and JC Green who was a MW champ.
Kessler is a class fighter, but in answer to your question, yes old version of Calzaghe beats Kessler anywhere. Where was the judging unfair on Kessler when he fought Calzaghe, it was Calzaghe that was pulled away and warned when he had Kessler hurt.
As for Ward, he was fighting a double vision suffering Kessler and I think he would have had points deducted for holding and head use possibly resulting in a DQ had their fight been elsewhere.

Kessler has the best resume for an active SMW at this time in my opinion. If Kessler was to beat Bute and get a revenge win over Ward his resume would be very impressive.

That's what Kessler needs to do to become a A level fighter and a top 5 P4P. But he has a tough competition for getting there: Ward, Bute, Froch... and even Dirrell

Kessler beat Froch already, when suffering double vision, in his last fight. All Froch has done since is beat a former MW who isnt very good at SMW, who was coming off a loss and is next fighting a glorified journeyman. Dont get me wrong, I like Froch.
    Dirrell lost to Froch.
Ward would be a good revenge win for Kessler and Bute due to his undefeated record would be a good win.
People forget how well Kessler has done in his career with wins over Beyer, Siaca, Mundine, undefeated Andrade who has a win over Steiglitz, undefeated Sartison, undefeated Froch. Adding undefeated Bute and Ward would make a very impressive resume

Hell - i think you are right.......Kessler the Viking Warrior a hell of a fighter. Kessler is the real deal ......If any of you paid any interest in my "Kessler list" thread in 2009, you will all see, that Kessler is closing in. The next fight in Denmark, national stadium of Parken in Copenhagen will be huge...........................Kessler has demanded to an all time low entrance, and the fight will be on free public television. After that - Kessler once again will travel to fight the best. Hopefully Bute is next.......................................

Ward is a A-class fighter... Even A class fighters suxx sometimes.. Look i dont like Ward.. Im a Kessler fan.. Im just looking at this with true eyes.. Ward is a Olympic gold medalist.. With that and the way he uses tacs in fights he is a A class.

Kessler needs to beat JUST 1 slick fast fighter.. Dirrell, Ward whoever.. dosnt matter.. Can he do this.. Then he is a A class fighter.. Kessler is just gonna past Bute first, and Bute got a good wepon in that bodypuch, wich i think gonna trouble Kessler :/

Ive seen most of Kesslers fights.. Kessler hasnt got any A's in anything he does. Maybe his 1-2, back vs Andrade.. That was an A class jab combo.. Just he dosnt have it, and now its a B class jab.. He misses it allot. Before he had some good movement, specially to the right arround the opponement and backsteps after attacking. That was maybe A class movement, but atm its not sharp and i can only rate it B class. The combo slaughters is also weaker than vs Andrade, with many misses. B class here. Kessler is like a Robot, who was installed to goin forward even tho what happends. Its good, but sometimes Kessler needs to step back and do something else..

and you are call yourself a Kessler fan......**** off for saying that!
even the non-Kessler fans would not say he's B class fighter.

Anyways, he's gotta prove he can make a great comeback after that
eye injury and if he will get past Bute then he's already elite need no
    Ward for that.

So Ward is an A-class fighter because of something he did several years ago in the AM's while you wont even consider Kessler's accomplishments as a pro. Seriously?

    Why this double standard?

Why not also take into account that Ward has NEVER fought in his opponents backyard?

Slick fighters? What would you call Anthony Mundine? And remember that Kessler fought him in Australia with 2 ruptured discs and yet he won easily.

Remember also that Kessler was injured against Calzaghe as well and I hink he would have won in Denmark injuryfree.

I agree completely that Kessler is not what he used to be. Maybe the eye injury is to blame or maybe he is just old at 32 with all those injuries. We will see.

Dude.. You are overprotecting KEssler.. Dont write stuff i didnt state in my post.. "Kessler's accomplishments as a pro" is very good. And you cant compare Mundine to a A-class slick fighter.. comon.. I like Kessler like most in ESB, but he just aint a world A-class boxer..

World A-Class boxers are atleast in top 10 p4p..

The thing is not that you classify Kessler as a B class fighter. That is your call (even though you havent defined what it takes to be A class). My problem is rather the ones you call A class which is unfounded to say the least.

And now you say A-class is top 10 p4p. Well Kessler was there before Calzaghe.

There are no elite SMWs right now. Bute and Ward at their best perform at top world-class level (B+) but that's about it. Kessler is B to B+. Same goes for Froch. Ward might improve sufficiently to perform at A- level, as might Bute. But Kessler ain't getting better. Kessler, at his best, used to be B+ to A-, but he was never borderline elite.
