Can't fault Bradley for taking a shot at Pacquaio, but it shows he doesn't have the confidence in beating Khan otherwise he'd take the fight with Amir in July first. Bradley's gonna have to fight before November, and it's going to be at WW to prepare for Pac. Shame he won't take the Khan fight first though. He won't take any one who poses a risk in order not to ruin his payday with Manny. He's going to get so much shít when he announces he's fighting someone like Steve Forbes or Vivian Harris at 147 though. Although I hope he fights feather fisted Paulie as his "tune-up" and Paulie boxes circles around him.
****ing knew Bradley was joining Top Rank when he turned up at Pac/Mosley and TR mentioned it on their FB page. My guess is this... Pac fights JMM with Bradley/Alvarado on the undercard or on HBO at some time :yep Khan ends up with Judah
It's not a lack of confidence, just common sense. Happens all the time in boxing and stops so many good fights from happening. And no way Malignaggi would out box Tim Bradley.
Well some Top Rank fighters still fight on HBO don't they, like the Montiel/Donaire fight there recently.
It wouldn't be regarded as 'common sense' if Khan had done this. He'd be called a greedy cherry-picking **** who'd thrown a spanner into the HBO's 140 plans that he promised to take part in.
Will Bradley need to vacate his titles ay 140 for the Pacman fight? If he does would Khan be able to fight for the vacant titles, or is this one of those things where the bodies won't allow a belt holder from another alphabet to fight for a vacant title?
They'll use the $1m guarantee on a tune up fight..... Gotta say he's played this well. Kicks the Khan fight down the road for later and opens up a huge opportunity against Manny. Golden Girl will be enraged. They've only really got control over Khan and Maidana now..... with Bradley and Pacquiao out of reach and Marquez seemingly becoming a free agent they're ****ed. I'm quite impressed how Freddie Roach has managed to stay on reasonable terms with all parties, working with both promoters and they're fighters. Wouldn't happen over here, no matter who it was.
Nothing. HBO are sucking up to TR atm. Even agreed to broadcast Chavez/Zbik! Gamboa has dates on HBO as well.
Really?? So Arum wasn't that serious when he said he's taking all of his business away from HBO, then.
No, HBO want to continue doing business with TR - they can't just ignore the biggest/second biggest promoter out there. Gamboa won his fight and was given another date. Donaire was also given a May date on HBO with TR but then he decided to join GBP and that's all in court atm. As I said Chavez/Zbik on June 4th is TR card on HBO. I think Arum was just threatening HBO knowing they need him. And there's rumours that Ross Greenberg and Kerry Davis who run HBO Sports have their positions under threat partly as a result of allowing Pac to go to Showtime.
