Will Pacquiao lose alot of respect if he fights JMM higher than 140?

Oscar came down one weight and Pac went up one. To level the playing field as Top Rank put it.

Now here we are with a possible 3rd matchup with JMM and they're actually talking about making it at 143-145.

    1. We know how effective of a fighter JMM is at that weight(don't know watch his fight with Floyd). He looked uncomfortable and a little pudgy around the edges.

    2. 9 times out of 10 Manny comes in for his welterweight fights at 145 so the catchweight wouldn't even affect him regardless.

    3. Roach and Ariza always talk about how Manny's best is at 140 and that they have to feed him like a horse to keep the weight on him. Then they will say he is a full welterweight now and can't come down anymore. They are being just as bad as Floyd when it comes to always contradicting themselves. One day they say one thing and the next they say something else.

I'll put it this way. Oscar was willing to come down in weight so they could meet in the middle at welterweight. Manny should be more than willing to do the same since it would be very easy for him anyway. This would at least repair some of the damage that was done to his reputation, when it comes to people believing that whenever he is facing a elite fighter he has use to some weight disadvantage to gain the upper hand. He doesn't need it. IMO, has never needed it.

    Thoughts?

I see no reason it cant be at 140. Pac can make that weight without really even trying.

Probably just as much as Floyd for agreeing 144 and then coming in at 146

Only for the Mayweather fanboys. But then again they wouldnt give Manny respect even if he fought the klits.

However the real boxing expert and boxing fan know it doesnt matter considering they will come in at same weight anyway at fight night.

the tards already have had excuses up and ready for some time now for this.....theyve already been unleashed.....see above

"they will come in around the same weight on fight night".....when all they said after floyd made it look like jmm didnt even belong in the same state as him "marquez couldnt carry anything up to 147 with him....he was slow"

That should have never happened. But I guess it wasn't a surprise since Floyd has never been involved with a catchweight fight in his life. He was trying to get JMM to sign on the dotted line and after he did Floyd pretty much said "**** a catchweight."

Yes he SHOULD lose a ton of respect.

JMM's max fighting weight is for me 135, his best were below that, he is 5 years older and not got the body/physique to carry it up anymore.

Pac should come down but he wont, if he wins it will not mean much, certainly wont change what happened in the first two fights when JMM was still prime or close to it.

No. He'll end up fighting Bradley I think, we'll probably never see JMM-Pacquiao III and while JMM deserves the fight more than anyone the result is a foregone conclusion.

After blatantly saying that after eating and eating 145 was all he could give right next to JMM in an interview, I would lose some respect for Pacquiao who I do admire. It would just be an advantage he shouldn't need.

No. Why would Marquez dictate the weight limit for this fight? It doesnt make sense.

Why would he lose respect? If it's for the title, 145 catchweight is fine.

Rumours of Bradley going over to Top Rank and if true then it looks like he will be fighting Manny as he won't be fighting Khan. Marquez will probably then take the GBP 3 fight deal and both men will be out of the game by the time those 3 fights are over in my opinion.

Also Manny needs a fight to make him look good and Bradley is the man for that, he's going to come forward throwing punches and hes going to get caught in the typhoon and go down.

ahh So thats why, Maybe they could do both, sign marquez for november and safe braldley for early next year, I just dont know who he should fight in the meantime, all the good fighters are signed with goldenboy maybe judah or rios at 140?
