yes. Every single one. They all collectively said at their weekly meeting "hey, fighting's fine, sure, but lets not like, you know...really fight anymore."

Two BIG BLACK FIGHTERS so scared to trade punches with PACMAN. As always, before the fight, they, including the HATERS say, will decapitate the PACMAN. But for the BLACK FIGHTERS, it's just their mouth that is fighting. Just call that ******* FLOYD and man up you freeakin' *****S and see what he really got. No more TRASH TALKING, FANTASY FIGHTING, just wake the F****IING UP and sign that contract. :hat

What the **** are you talking about. Do you have tourettes?

To the opening poster: broad generalizations and blanket statements are fun.

Black fighters are not just simply known for running, they also clinch like hell whenever the opportunity arises. Seems to me like gyms where there are predomenently black fighters they simply ignore teaching infighting. Almost as if their trainers say, "Why fight when you can get away with holding 200 times in a fight?"

Hell, even guys like Hopkins who can fight on the inside choose to clinch an embarrasing amount rather than to go toe-to-toe with an opponent. How sad it is that infighting has become such a forgotten artform in boxing. :verysad

No you're not a racist! You're just institutionally ignorant which is a by-product of societal and institutional prejudice! Not that it's your intention. I'll tell you why this is a dumbass thread! 1st of all you're basing all your perception on a guy who's done his work at 40 and was once a great fighter that no longer the physical attributes. Also the fight game is so different frrom Ali & Frazier days that the same "business of boxing infrastructure" doesn't even apply. Ever see Floyd on ABC's Wide World of Sports? No? Because now boxing is completely privitized and there's no possible way bouts can be made in the same manner considering mandatories. Promoters these days make a habit of blowing mandatory bouts straight to hell! Floyd is on 1 endless vacation in your mind because he's had more financial success than anyone in the history of the sport and you have no idea what dictates that kind of success for someone who's already done their work! Understand, it's not your place to pick and choose when a fighter is to fight. You're just a fan with very little understanding of what a fighter has to do be healthy and successful! This really isn't an Afican American issue at all. It's more of your tolerance and perception of African Americans in the sport based on these facts:
    1. African American fighters are by far the highest paid in the sport and always have been. This is difficult for many people to get too. I mean I hear prople say babe was better than Bonds and Babe never played against a brotha or Latino for those stats! has that altered white America's opinion about Ruth? No!
2.Historically the technical innovations made in the fight game over the last 100 years have been from primarily African American fighters.
    3. Also a lineage and urban history in everry major city that produces great champions of the sport that set precedents in boxing as well as all sports.
These are just a few of the very potent factors that have made the Greatest Boxers in the history of sport! To deny this is plain ignorance, bias and jealousy! Nothing else!

    Again with the blanket statements.

I tend to think that alot of top fighters don't infight anymore. Not just black ones. Ever heard of the klitschkos? Paul Williams fights on the inside, but I do agree that its becoming a lost art for all fighters, again, not just black ones.

sorry too long too read, but I get your point and yes I have something about the attitude of not fighting against fighters, of all races, no matter latest mosleys action, the klitschkos or german felix sturm, they **** me of with there way of fighting (not fighting). but one thing I can tell you is that direll or ward arent 40 years old and past prime and yet fight like they were usain bolt.

Ward has displayed infighting ability. He's pretty proficient at it. Didn't he put it on display in his last fight? I only watched it once, but if I recall he was doing some pretty good infighting.
