I never put much thought into that.

Could be when he was green and beat Gans, than drew with Walcott. Maybe its when he carried Ketchel or knock 220lb Harry Wills cold while blind.

I know he has a better resume than Prp though.

I know both Gans and Walcott rightfully rank higher all time than Saddler. But I don't want to demean Peps masterful performance in his second fight with sandy.

That said, we're talking who has the better resume, so stop changing the subject.

Gans & Walcott was both as old as grass, Ketchel was thought by many newspaper reporters at the fight to have been the clear winner... Wills are you talking about the same Wills who was was exposed by Jack Sharkey and could not even beat Jack Dempsey's sparring partner.. your trying to claim these better than beating a prime Sandy Sadler

no there is no changing of the subject here JAB.. i am addressing your questions and it seems to me that you are once again exaggerating a little.. are you now saying that Gans & Walcott was not way past there best days against a youthful Langford? or that Langfords win against them is greater than Pep defeating Sandy Sadler ?

29 and 31 are old as grass, huh? Keep reaching.

And Im talking about the same Wills who was ranked number one for Dempseys title longer than any other fighter.

You're NOT answering my question. If you were you would explain to me why the fighters on Peps resume are better than those on Langfords.
What you are trying to get me to do is to put down a great win for Pep, which I am unwilling to do.

Nice try Sonny, but you keep falling short.

Perhaps your friend is cognizant of the fact that Pep went 62 fights ,before losing to lightweight Sammy Angott, then went a further 73 fights ,before losing to Sandy Saddler.Langford never put a run like that together.

Not even close, and that is testament to Willie's greatness. But it still doesn't change the fact that Langford has fought and beaten the more historically significant fighters and has a better resume, does it?
