Jeff Lacy to fight MMA champ Nick Diaz...in the boxing ring

NO matter how shot Lacy is, why would you pick a non boxer to have a chance here?...Unless the boxer was a senior citizen , he should be favored big time over Diaz...

WOldnt this be like a semi talented Weekend warrior on the basketball court challenging the worst player in the NBA to a game of one on onee?


Or the best golfrer in your office challenging the last place score on the PGA?

EVen if Diaz has natural talent, I would think Lacey could finish him within 22 rounds tops!!...... Saw Vargas on my facebook talking about this and he said Lacey will dust him in one round.. And if Diaz does make it past a few rounds then maybe he will step in to finish him.:bbb

 

Former IBF and IBO supermiddleweight champ Jeff Lacy will be fighting mma strikeforce 170lbs champ Nick Diaz. Diaz is also a novice pro boxer with 1-0 record and has shown some pretty solid boxing skills inside the mma cage.

The fight has been billed as a 168lbs supermiddleweight contest. The fight is a huge risk for diaz and probably a very ignorant move. Jeff Lacy may no longer be a serious contender and lets face it, his best days are prob past him since the calzaghe fight. However, Lacy is former world champ with over 40 pro fights and countless amatuer contest.

I can't see this one actually happening, but if it does take place I can't see diaz making past the first couple of round. Just like when Toney crossed over to fight mma, complete circus feakshow contest!

Wow Lacy is so washed up he needs to retire instead of taking more punishment. Not many fighters been ruined like he has. I surely thought he'd win his fight with Dhafir Smith. How do you lose to Dhafir Smith ?! :yikes

Lacy might be shot but if one left hook touches Diaz's chin it will shatter.

 

I like comebacks & miracle stories, I'd enjoy if Lacy was able to turn back the clock. Wow that is sad to say about him because he's only 32 or 33 last I checked.

I'd rather see him box than mma but I guess he feels done in boxing. He lost in front of his hometown a total lopsided letdown disgrace last outing, I almost went to it too.

 

Doesnt sound like this is an MMA match. Sounds more like Diaz is making the switch.

Nick Diaz is no joke people! They guy can fight! Has an Excellent Chin! MMA fighters fight with 2-4 oz gloves at times and he takes those hits well compared to Boxing gloves! He will Beat Lacy no doubt in my mind!

as washed up as Lacy is....Diaz would be stupid to trade punches against Lacy... He should not give Jeff any chance....Just take the guy on the ground like couture did for Toney or play a risky game and potentially get koed.

He should submit him or tko him on the ground

 

What Diaz does in MMA is getting him wins. When he punches in the MMA matches, he is crude, leaves himself wide open for counters, has lousy footwork and all that doesn't help him in the ring with a seasoned boxing pro, no matter how "shot" he may be.

Last weeks post had video supposedly of Diaz sparring, and he looked like I just described------**** for boxing skills. He will get KTFO for his effort and crawl back to MMA for whatever they are willing to pay because he has absolutely no future in boxing.
