Could this be why Juan Marquez is hesitant to work with Top Rank?

He's guaranteed that amount if the PPV cracks a million buys. He had similar deals for the Cotto, Hatton, and Margarito fights.

How much was the PPV $65 so he is getting $14 for each PPV that sounds like a hell of a lot!

    Good on him!

    Then that's not a guaranteed amount. That's a bonus.

    It does'nt work that way.

A guarantee is just that, a fighter is guaranteed an X ammount of dollars no matter how many tickets or PPV's sold.......

For example, Top Ranks current offer to Marquez to fight Pacquiao is 5 million + a percentage of the ppv sales.

If the PPV sells one buy, Arum is obligated to pay Marquez 5 million.

 Exactly... From the way the Floyd fanboys talk you'd think PAc never made a dime off Arum. :patsch

Argue semantics all you like. Take it up with the scribes in the know like Kevin Iole and Dan Rafael who reported Manny being guaranteed a $20 million dollar payday.

That isn't true. It depends on the stipulations in the contract.

i dont know man...manny no matter who is promoting him would make similar money or at least the same no matter what as long as he kept winning and crushing and moving through weight classes.... if bob wasnt paying him that, golden boy would have to be, or some rich investor who thinks hes a promoter
take away manny from bob, bob takes a huge hit...take bob away from manny, and manny stays the same

:huh Unsure why you quoted me. Because I agree, Manny makes more or less the same amount regardless.

That 6 million number is what is probably reported to IRS to lower their taxes. LOL!
