Bradley's promoter: Khan offer is a lot bigger than $1.3M!

    Gary Shaw's attorney admits that Timothy Berto would make a lot more than the $1.3M being reported for the proposed Amir Khan fight that would unify the LWW belts. Timbo is being offered 80% of all total net revenues and there's a very high minimum guaranteed, but the fighter does not want his career high payday and looks to sit out the next weeks until his GSP contract expires.

    For me it sounds dumb. It's unlikely he lands a Pacquiao (or Mayweather) bout or get a bigger paycheck than the one well over $1.3M when realistically he's television and ticket draw is unlikely to exceed $500k, he's just not popular and that ugly, dirty Alexander fight just made things worse.

    This comes as a major blow for the boxing fans who were treated with an excellent 2011 so far, another Berto is the last thing we need (Bradley is guaranteed to make $1.2M fighting any bum under last year's deal to put Timbo-Alexander together. Devon who makes the same at least takes on the very dangerous Mattysse). The fans, experts and HBO want the fight and Khan is ready to go way under the realistic market split taking about 50% (maybe less). But at this moment it looks like we're not gonna get this fight.

    Well that's a major dissapointment.

    Hopefully Bradley takes the fight when his Shaw contract expires.

    Not convinced it's gonna be that easy. There's always some clause in small letters, like when Donaire wanted to leave TR for breach of contract (TR not making the guaranteed big magnitude fights) yet lawyers dismissed his claim or Mayorga leaving Don for not getting fights only to end up staying and paying the Don 80% of his purse for "damages".

    Bradley should take this very generous offer under Shaw, beat Khan and negotiate his new deal from a LOT better position.

    That would be the best option.

    But I don't think he gets past Khan to be honest, and if he loses then he has no leverage at all.

    Sucks to be Bradley right now I guess.

    Obviously the deal is not that good or Bradley would've taken it.

    I wouldn't trust Shaw since his contract with Bradley is expiring.

    bradley wants to leave shaw thats the whole issue, thats why shaw is being so generous and giving him a bigger share of his own money.

    So why not grab the easy money, beat Khan and listen to the offers from a much better market standpoint?

    Maybe Bradley's waiting in the hope that Khan slips up again and loses his title, so he doesn't have to face him?

    I doubt it but it could be possible.

    because it seems that if he schedules a fight while his contract isnt done it will get prolonged for a few years.
    I think thats why he is holding back, he can let his contract expire, take a 1.2 mil fight vs a easier opponent then fight khan in december.

    The reason the $1.3 number got thrown around in the first place was because it was released by Shaw in a tweet. I would like to know how much he's cut into his own revenue for this supposed new offer. Simply being told it's "a lot more" than $1.3 by Shaw is not especially convincing.

    He has said numerous times in interviews, etc that he has wanted to face Khan after Alexander. And I'm sure it isn't Khan's last performance that has put him off. It may just be as simple as him wanting to wait for his contract to run out.
