There is genuine needle between them so both of them are acting a little different. Don't think the trash talk is that unusual or overboard considering all that has gone on before and how big the fight is.
I'm certainly not getting bent out of shape by it. Haye's act is a worthy talking point. I don't accept that Wlad is carrying on in the same manner though. Haye's saying stuff that anyone who knows a thing about boxing knows is nonsense. He called everyone who Wlad ever fought "bums". He compares Wlad to Audley. He suggests Wlad's record is a complete fraud. What does that make Haye then ? If Chambers and Chagaev et al are "bums" I'd hate to think what Harrison is. Remember when he suggested he was fighting all the HWs who Wlad had avoided ! The tough guy "I'm gonna kill you and decapitate you !" **** doesn't really suit Haye either, but Haye needs to seriously shut up about records and accomplishments, because frankly he hasn't got much on Wlad in that area, and it just adds to the overall twatishness of all his statements. Anyone who knows anything knows Haye is talking out of his arse. And does he really want the ignorant Joe Publics to believe he's fighting another Audley ?! BUT this IS all pre-fight hype and IS possibly psychological warfare, so it's all good. Still, there's no denying the obvious : Haye is being a twat.
Its the biggest Heavyweight fight for along time...he's just doing what he always does and tries to unsettle the opponent aswell as putting his name out there, sell the fight.. To be honest this fight sells itself but there has been ongoing banter between the 2 camps for some time, well ever since Haye started to call them out and then duck them for a few years!
With who though? Even the most casual of fans realize that boxers talk **** before a fight, its nothing serious and that one of them has to lose. Hayes HW career stands and falls by this one fight, he either wins and it has credibility or he loses and, baring going down in an FOTY candidate, he'll just have been a paper champ who was lucky enough to get some decent paydays before he got found out. I don't think all the pre-fight BS changes that one iota.
David looks lost at sea to me. He doesn't know what to do be doing or saying. He's become very attached to the WBA strap and the reality of what he might lose is staring him straight in the face. I don't think we will see the same antics from Haye pre this fight because he is genuinely fearful of what Wlad can do to him. I'm sure he has enjoyed walking around as heavyweight champion of the world........
This is the kind of utter bollocks that gets written on these boards all too often - 'Haye's lost the plot', 'Haye's looks all at sea', 'Haye is genuinely fearful'. What the **** are you on about?! And how the **** do you know he's scared?! He's never looked scared in his life as far as I can tell, and if you think he ducked out of the first arrangement for anyting other than financial reasons your an idiot.
I bet he was scared on the way back home from the paper shop when that News of the World story came out about him shagging the X-Factor bird.....;O)
It'd be hilarious if Wlad managed to convince the British public to get behind him. Obviously national pride will likely take over but the general public over here don't know that Wladimir's fights are boring. Most of them have probably seen Haye's 2 recent high profile fights and been incredibly disappointed and bored themselves though. Wlad is a charming and definitely seems a genuinely nice guy. Haye does come across as a twat and who knows, maybe people over here will start to wish for the downfall of David Haye.
I don't understand the sulking. I thought Haye looked ridiculous at the German press conference. Reminded me of a school kid with his feet on the desk. He's got his fight, he says Wlad is **** - has always been ****, he's getting the attention he seems to love, what the problem with him? I thought he'd be absolutely buzzing, he looks bored out of his mind.
I will state this again, on the whole scheme of things. Britain these days is built up on a nation of losers, moaners who moan about getting their jobs robbed..? even though nothing is owed to them, and its their fault because their ****. Show these people abit of confidants, and they want to bring you down. David Haye has did everything he promised, and said he would do. He brought back the heavyweight title to Great britian, he brought excitement, and he's brought back some swagger into the game. Just a Nation of complete losers.
