In less than a month, WBA 154 pound champion Miguel Cotto will figure out if he is going to make a move to 160-pounds to face Chavez Jr. for the WBC middleweight title. Chavez is going to face Sabastian Zbik on June 4 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Cotto was going to face Antonio Margarito in a rematch on September 17, but the mexican boxer has yet to receive full medical clearance to fight again. Margarito suffered a bad orbital bone injury during last November's loss to Manny Pacquiao. Cotto is not going to wait any further to fight again. He was initially going to face Margarito in June. A fight with Chavez would present him the opportunity to become the first Puerto Rican boxer to win four world titles in four different weight divisions.

"I'm waiting to see if Chavez Jr. wins the fight. After the first week of June, [Top Rank] will let me know what's next. Maybe (the fight against Chavez Jr.) will be in October or November. I will wait for the offer from Top Rank, but so far there's no plan 'A' no plan 'B'," Cotto told Carlos Gonzalez.

    Zbik would take Cotto.
Cotto taking a title at Middleweight would be something.

its important that chavez jr wins, that will help cotto's legacy if he becomes a 4 division champ. If zbik wins he will felixsturm his way in germany and the belt would be held hostage for years.

I dont know if a Puerto Rican should want to be fighting a Mexican. YOu are not gonna have any more champions left if you keep asking for it....

Love Martinez, But his window is closing FAST.
(By the time a NAME fighter gives him another fight dude will be 37)

    Lets just ASSUME Chavez/Cotto happens
(& everything That was supposed to happen happens to make it possible)

By the time a fight w/Martinez could be made we are talking late 2012/early 2013.
    Bad news.
