Whats the alternative ? Stay on the out side and get your head jabbed off and then get smashed with right hand. Haye has a speed advantage but getting in and out with Vlad's reach and height advantages is very difficult, name a fighter Vlad has hated as much as Haye ? Maybe he might lose his composure.

What happened to "The Matrix" remake Haye promised us at heavyweight ?

What we've seen so far is him knocking out one has-been (Ruiz), two never-weres (Harrison and Barrett) and, admittedly, he did as well as a 46 year old Holyfield against Valuev - his best win !

I admire him though for his talents of self-promotion. Financially he's going to be a huge winner, and that's what matters.

I was thinking the same thing last night. I think if you take away peoples annoyance at being messed about waiting for the Wlad fight, having to put up with Haye-Harrision and look at the record and circumstances behind it then its not to bad IMHO.

Will help ya out with some more excuses Gaz :good

"Considering he wanted to take the easiest path possible and make the most money, its not to bad"

"Considering all the good HWs were tied up in fights with the Klitschkos, its not to bad"

Wait, i can come up with more...

    EDIT:

"If you take away the fact he fought no live opponent while the Klischkos fought several, it's not that bad"

    :p

    What excuses?

I've never said otherwise. We're getting Wlad-Haye now, whats the problem if he earned a few extra quid on the way?

Yeah, shame he couldn't find room for Sam Peter, Hasim Rahman or Shannon Briggs on there to really bump up the quality. I know you'll say they are all better than Harrision and thats true but that ignores the money side of professional boxing.

    Don't bother....:p

The fights on and people are still ****ing whinging!!

No problem, but why say his record isn't that bad? It is very bad, even for the standard of the heavyweight division at the moment.

I'm saying that run of opponents "isn't bad", not "great".

He's won the title that gets him the bargaining position with the Klitschos, wins his mandatory, has a soft one for crazy money and is now fighting Wladimir......not exactly a shockingly bad run of events it?

A lot of people are just pissed off because they fell for Hayes lines a couple of years ago and because they had to sit through the Harrison fight in the mean time instead.

Depends on how high the standards are set.
Haye said he was going to be the "saviour of the heavyweight division" etc.
His campaign at HW is 3 years old, he's being hyped beyond belief.

I remember Barrett was considered quite a poor cop-out after Haye had declared he'd go straight in with "a top 10 rated contender".
There followed a year of inactivity and ducking out of Klitschko fights.

I'm not saying it's a bad record per se, but it's a forgettable resume. He's no better than the Ruiz, Byrd, Chagaev title-holders that came before him.

Herbie Hide probably has a better HW resume, or close.

    Who's the WBA heavyweight Champion..?

Who's fighting to Unifie the titles..?

    David Haye.

    Sit down, mate.......sit down.

David Haye has single handedly sparked excitement in the heavyweight division.

    "So he is the saviour"
