On a side note did you know that Archie Moore once called Mike Tyson the best Heavyweight ever, Eddie Futch and Hank Kaplan also said it.

-I favor Tyson of course. But I don't see enough on the table to write Moore off as a no hoper. He has one punch ko power in his right, fast hands, physical power to bully larger men, mental toughness on par with Holyfield, absurd Ring IQ, and would be the best defensive fighter Mike fought. We going to write a man like this off? Tyson's speed is his only edge, it should be enough, but....foolish to say the Goose has no chance.

Yes Tyson hit harder than Satterfield and had 10x the chin... Say what you want about those "Giant Contenders" but in Tysons day they were just tall slender Hws with mediocre or bad chins... And yey he did ko Bruno and every just about every other big man of his day, guys heavier than the ones you mentioned.

What would he do different? The same thing you said except alot better even faster,physically way stronger. hittin alot harder(than 180lb BOb), and do you really wanna mention the chin?

Picture a Prime 220 lb muscle bound Locomotive,lighting fast,Pitbull on steroids,Defensive savvy,tough chinned Tyson coming at you?

Now picture a slender 180 lb big punching ,above average skilled, althoughflawed, glass chinned LH/CRuiser coming at you? Who would you rather fight?

This is why I can't talk to you Mongoose. I said you need great offense to beat Tyson, I'm weighing up the fight stylistically, and I said that Moore has great power, I'm saying that he DOES have this attribute. So that's a good thing for him here, what I am saying is though that you're talking primarily about Moore's defence being a big factor here, so I shot that down, he's not beating Tyson by being cute and defensive for me, ever. Then I looked at his ability to take Tyson out the way you have to, by being all over Tyson, I don;t see it, I think he would get stopped. Lesser punchers than Tyson have stopped Moore if you want to get into it

and that is that, we all feel like this, for some reason Mongoose is taking it to heart.

 

Bob Satterfield had very good skills and great power but had no chin, Mike is a completely more damaging and effective fighter, two different styles.

the comparisons don't make much sense in my opinion

 

-Great power does not equal great offense. If that was your intention, mis read ya.

-Cute and defensive with great power/offense. Moore isn't Buster Mathis Jr, slipping shots but firing back with air.

-Holyfield had to wrestle and clinch because he was so slow at this stage. Once Mike slowed down a little, he did a good job boxing him behind his jab.

I agree about the chins. But Satterfield certainly fought in a similar style to Tyson against Charles and a few other times.
