Dan Rafael says Tim Bradley is passing on the fight with Amir Khan

This sums up my thoughts pretty well.

 

The last "official" word is that Bradley asked for more money. The REAL ***** is Khan...he has proven himself a cheap ******* with Ariza and unwillingness to pay an opponent properly in his last fight, which is why he settled with Mccloskey.

Now he doesn't want pay Bradley properly either.

I used to be a Khan supporter, but since his fiasco with Ariza, he's a money-grubbing ******* that deserves no big payday and get knocked the **** out.

 

This is an HBO fight, Khan doesn't decide how much Bradley gets paid, HBO does.

How about you do some damn research? HBO doesn't determine the payday for each fighter, the promoters do. HBO offers a bid and the rest (split, etc..) is negotiated by the promoters.

He's another fighter who will regret not facing Khan. Lucky for him, he may get the chance to fight Khan on July 23rd.

Bradley was given a lot more than $1.3M to fight Khan, and after all the calling out Khan for running around, he chickened out.

Give credit where credit is due, m8. Khan took the fight, and Bradley is nothing but a coward :good

Hasn't bradley got contract issues at the moment with his promoter. I belive he is trying to run out his contract so he sign with someone better and get more $$$$.

Oh well if it's coming from the entirely neutral and trustworthy attorney of one Gary Shaw, it must be true! Hell the $1.3M figure was reported by Shaw himself.

I don't think Bradley should catch flak for wanting to take a stay-busy fight for the guaranteed HBO money and/or try to get a better promotional deal for himself. There might be a double standard with respect to how people view Khan, but he was afforded a stay-busy fight after the biggest win of his career. I don't see why Bradley should not likewise receive the benefit of the doubt, even if his win was somewhat uglier.

 

I'm sorry, anyone stupid enough to believe Khan has ANYTHING to do with how much Bradley gets paid doesn't have the right to talk smack.

That was initially a PPV fight numbnuts (it got moved to free TV later). Fighters in PPV fan negotiate purse sharing.
In HBO/free TV fights you get a fixed purse since there is no PPV revenue. There are exceptions to this but generally the biggest source of the purse is the broadcast fee from the broadcaster (aka HBO).
