Sorry to be starting another Haye/Klitschko thread.... but I can assure you that it won't contain any of my anti-Haye drivel like most of the others.... for now at least :patsch

Anyway, I've been reading all the threads, and also similar threads over on Boxrec, and can't help but think that many British posters and/or Haye fans are seriously underestimating the ability of Klitschko.

It's as if they believe that all Haye has to do is hit Klitschko on the chin with a single punch and that will be that. And the new.....

So - that ignores Klitschko hardly being hit or losing a round in the last six years, knocking out every opponent barring Ibragimov and looking damn impressive against Chagaev in particular.... as well as Haye's power not being as murderous as many of us expected.

Obviously he's got a fair dig, but given his lack of finishing ability against opponents that are streetwise I don't really see how he can get rid of a Steward-trained Klitschko without putting himself in danger.

My challenge therefore is this...... would a Haye fan (or anyone else) care to analyse the respective styles of the two and come up with a realistic way as to how Haye can win the fight, taking into account their recent form and opposition, and how that opposition caused them difficulty, exploited weaknesses etc.

Basically, you're playing Adam Booth in this thread, without the Dark Energy

    :good

Just look at where Klitscko carries his hands. If a fighter is fast, powerful and has the guts to let his hands go he can hit him and hurt him. We have seen it before.

Wlads defence can also be lazy and he is allowed to get away with it as his opponents are lazy. he blocks the first shot and then drops his hands. If Haye comes in a pot-shots like he did with Valuev he will not be able to win but if he is relatively busy and takes a risk he can hit, hurt and stop klitscko.

Klitscko is also open to body shot. Haye will be able to throw body shots simular to the mormeck fight which will ware Wlad down.

While I don't doubt that Chagaev and Ibragimov have better resumes than Haye they are not as good as Haye is going to be in the Wlad fight.

You drastically underrate David Haye as a fighter.

BB when was the last time Klitscko faced someone that fast, powerful, athletic and wants to win?

I reckon even the diehard Haye fans recognise the possibilities of it going tits up. The beauty for klit backers is the juicier odds for their man, when the casuals get sucked into the hype leading up to fight night.

What worries me about Haye in interviews is that he keeps mentioning being "fast and athletic". Thats all well and good but thats not a gameplan.

Maybe he has a game plan that he's keeping under wraps but "fast and athletic" doesn't instill me with confidence at the moment.

True, hence the second paragraph but this banging on about "athleticism" means nothing IMHO.

I certainly do think Haye will win and win easily. So yes, those who make Waldo favourite would think i'm massively underestimating him.

I just think Wlad is gonna have that deer caught in headlights look again when Haye tags him with the first right hand, and although Haye is a ragged finisher, its effective, and he absolutely jumps on you, which is the last thing u need when ur trying to gether your wits about u.

People are hoping Haye will do it. Stylistically I find it hard to form an analysis based on Haye being the victor.

I think what Haye is trying to point out is that he brings something different to the table than Klitschko's recent opponents.

To be honest it's fairly obvious that David is quicker than a shot Samuel Peter and a fading Chagaev..... as for athleticism, I'm sure a lot of other Klitschko opponents don't intend to stand in front of him all night, but they all seem to do it for some reason.....

That's an issue for Haye IMO, he doesn't have the legs to take him 12 against Klitschko for me, and at some stage if he wants to win the fight he'll have to get in there. But his chin isn't as good as either Peter's or Chagaev's (especially) - which wouldn't fill me with confidence if I was a fan.

wlad has never ever shown anything to impress me....

i cant understand why anyone would think that he has anything appart from a jab for 11 rounds and a right hand when he gets told by manny to step i up.....

hes ****ing useless, and when haye steps in you will all see how useless he is.

Yeah, I get that BB. But like you say, EVERYONE knows how to beat Wlad but they find executing it the problem.

On the contrary, I'd say that's exactly what you want.

Better that than him stepping back and giving himself time and distance to pick his shots.

Compare Froch vs Taylor round 12 to Shannon Briggs trying to get rid of Lewis in the first round.

    Agreed.

Haye can beat Klitschko without question, but some are just assuming that Wladimir is some pudding that can't box, and it's a nonsense.

A lot will depend on the referee in this fight, will Wlad be allowed to tie up Haye over and over without being warned?

Will he allow Haye to attempt to work Wlads body to punch out of the clinch?
