cotto is on the verge of being the first puerto rican to win championships at 4 different weight classes, as long as chavez wins in june cotto and chavez jr will meet in oct/nov at 160 pounds for the wbc middleweight title....4 different weight classes with NO CATCHWEIGHTSSSSS if he is victorious....great look for cottos career and i wouldnt mind seein martinez vs cotto at 154 if he wins (martinez is going back down to 154)

He is no Benitez or Gomez but Cotto makes the best of what he has and I'm glad to be a fan of his. Hope he accomplishes what he sets out to do and wish him well.

:think I've always preferred even Camacho as the better fighter than Cotto, but I have to give Cotto his props. The guy is a warrior who I never thought would reach the sort of level he has. I think he would fully deserve this honour, he's used the tools what he has got to become a success even if he doesn't have a vast array of said tools.

Do you know how many fighters would have 4 titles had they had all fought the 3or 4 best guy instead of the real champ? Even when they had split titles guys Like Arguello chose to fight the best Aaron Pryor, instead of a guy like Leroy Haley(who he would have destroyed) and Arguello would have been the first to do so... Duran also skipped Jw he coould have been the first also to win in 5 divisions.

THats why i get pissed when Leonard gets credit for being the frist 5 division champ, such bull**** he fought for 2 ttitles in 2 division against the least dangerous LH and made him come down in weight.

Cotto has to beat Martinez to be a true 4 division champ. Even the guy Chavez is fightin is acherry picked euro!

So he's too small to face Martinez at 154 (consensus in another thread), but should fight Chavez Jr. at MW? Boxing fans...

Not gonna happen BTW. Martinez said he's going to take back what he's entitled to, his belt from Jr-Zbik winner. They are fighting for nothing but a paper title. Sergio wasn't injured or anything, Sulaiman just nicely set him up so Chavez could fight easily for it.

He may win a belt at 160 but unless he beats Martinez, he's not the real Middleweight champ IMO

unfortunately its not very smart for Cotto to go to 160 where the physical advantages will be overwhelmingly Chavez, Jrs. Cotto will come in even more Tubbier than he was against Mayorga. Cotto has no buisness at even 154 let alone 160.

These Mexicans arent stupid, apparantly we are? I expect Cotto to get ****ed up not because Chavez is some boxing Wizard but because he will physically beat down and wear Cotto out with his size, Chavez Jr is at his physical peak, kids big and strong, who dreams up these stupid moves for Cotto? we Puerto Ricans are about to take another one up the ass with this generations weak ass representatives. WTF?
