So what happened to this guy?, is he officially out of the super six and decided he's better off fighting the same guys Calzaghe made a career fighting? What's the deal here?, I just noticed a picture of him fighting a guy who looks like the cousin of someone Calzaghe fought.
Dude. He's fighting a tune up before going to Canada to fight Bute. Either that or he's fighting the S6 winner next.
Ward headbutted him out of the tournament. He beat Froch with double vision but then was adviced to forget boxing until - if ever - injury goes away. Eye injuries have a tendency to stay, so it's possible it's still there but decided to go on regardless. What a warrior. A Viking Warrior that is!
Come on, Scar. After 14 months out of the ring (with very little of that time spent in the gym due to injury) he can be forgiven one Mehdi Bouadla type as a tune-up to shake the rust off before getting right back in the fray with the top super middleweights. It isn't like he held the WBC belt hostage or anything. He voluntarily gave it up during his absence (allowing Froch to win it against Abraham once vacated, and now defend against Johnson and then perhaps the Ward-Abraham winner). How can you seriously hate on the guy for taking on one weak opponent after a long health-related layoff after he had previously fought Ward and Froch in a five month span?
he had problems with his vision. Now he's trying to get the wheel rolling again. Kessler fought Calzaghe, Froch, and Ward... some of the best Super Middleweights of the last 10 years. he might not be as good as people thought he was but he's definitely earned some respect. I don't think anyone should doubt Kessler's heart.
Well basically, he got the **** beat outta him by Ward and looked to quit before the fight was stopped. Then he fought the fight of his life against a lethargic Froch, and got the **** beat outta him in that fight despite "winning" the fight. He knew that Allan Green wasn't a pressure fighter and he would have to chase him around the ring and likely get counterpunched easily when you base his inneffective aggression against Froch. He just didn't want to take any more ass beatings, so now he's waiting for things to clear up and for people to retire or move up while he beats up on Euro Bums.
So.. You think that Allan Green would have beaten Kessler?? atsch .. You gotta be the most biased American boxing fan alive :deal
Styles make fights, but honestly, based on Green's performance against Johnson, I think Kessler could win a close decision based on aggression, but he would take some big shots in the process from time to time. He didn't wanna put up with that ****.
Kessler just beat an undefeated warrior in Carl Froch, so why should he fear Allan Green who was coming off a dissapointing loss to Andre Ward where he basicly quit after 6 rounds.. The fight was even in Denmark and Kessler has all the tools to beat Allan Green.. And if Kessler cowarded his way out of the super 6 why is he so eagerrred to come back and fight the best? Heck, he even said that he was fine with travelling to Canada to fight Bute.. Kessler always wanted to fight the best and he has always done that.. He came up short 2 times.. I really cant imagine that Kessler used the injury as an excuse..
Honestly, I don't think he beat Froch, and Green is at his best when he can control range. Kessler isn't going to smother him and he won't win the fight on the outside.
