Most impressive: McCallum-Watson or Hopkins-Tito

Watson was a good fighter but never the fighter Tito was. Hopkins beating Tito was two elite guys fighting. Watson was good, but not the top top level and when McCallum beat him, Watson was not very experienced.

 

voted hopkins-trinidad because tito was a pimp; don't need to justify it beyond that

 

well yeah Tito didn't accomplish much at middleweight. But Tito was a much better fighter than Watson. McCallum's best win was against Curry, and still I think Hopkins win over Tito is bigger than that one. Many people were picking Tito to blast Hopkins out. As it turned out he barely won a round.

 

tito had more experience and better power than watson , but i wouldnt say he was a much better fighter , watson was a good fighter himself he beat nigel benn when he was undefeated and had knocked out every opponent he'd faced , he then went on to fight eubanks later and won the fight however he was robbed , and then went on to fight eubanks again where he was well ahead on all scorecards until he was caught with a peach of an uppercut.

 

McCallum vs Watson, for me tito fighting above his best weight and for me Watson was the better middleweight out of the two challenger's .plus i was there at the McCallum/watson fight

 

McCallum was a fighter coming up through the weights taking on a decent sized , good middle weight.
Hopkins was a former light heavy ,taking on a guy, coming up through the weights.
It depends if you think it is more noteworthy, that Bernard stopped a quality champion like Tito,who was really a smaller man, or, if you give more kudos to McCallum beating a good class middle weight.
MIckey Duff who handled Watson at that time did not want the match against McCallum and they fell out over it. Duff was proved right,he usually was.

 

Trinidad had carried his power up to the weight and demolished a world class middleweight.Didn't just beat him,didn't just dominate him - he demolished him! And he looked awesome in doing so.



As impressive a performance as it was from McCallum,Hopkins dominating and shutting out an elite fighter,who had already shown himself as being a threat in the division,has to be more highly regarded than a win over a guy who was just barely world class at that point.



Watson wasn't robbed against Eubank,either.

Tito had two wins at 160lbs, both over guys whose middleweight victims are not worth talking about, Watson was just coming of a ko of Nigel Benn.

 

this one is not close!!!! McCallum never had a win against a guy like Tito I regret to say. At Junior MId Tito Trindidad might have stopped the overrated Mike McCAllum!!!!!!!!!!!!
