Morrison gets knocked down twice. In the fifth Morrison stuns Bruno with a left hook, then finishes Bruno on his feet via TKO.
Good fight... both could end it at any time. Morrison was the more fluid and natural fighter I think, but Bruno was stronger and his great jab/1-2 would cause Tommy major problems.
Yeah i done this thread a few months back, it was a fight i always found interesting back then, but there was never any talk of it happening. Two men with tremendous power and glaring weaknesses. Bruno is the bigger man and physically stronger, but ultimately, he was the better boxer! Like ddduudddee said; "Tommy is the more fluid of the two". He had dynamite in his left, and there is no doubt he could give Bruno fits. But Frank i think would have enough about him to beat Tommy with his straight punches. His jab would bust 'The Duke' up bad, and i see him ending it around 5/6 rounds with his straight right hand. I think Tommy would have a better chance of winning if he fought the way he did against Foreman, but even then i still see Bruno beating him with his straight punches. Tommy would always have a chance of freezing Bruno with his honey punch, but Frank's underrated skills would give him the far greater chance of landing his. Two fighters i liked watching. Bruno was the better boxer and better professional.
Tommy had pretty quick hands and a great left hook. He used a bob and weave/peek a boo style but wan't hard to find. Bruno usually started pretty fast, he had nice straight punches, a good jab, and was the bigger and stronger man. Both had excellent power. Both were considered less than durable. Morrison was stopped in 5 by Mercer, in 1 by Bentt and in 6 by Lewis. He was also dropped more than a few times, not always by huge punchers. Bruno was stopped by Bonecrusher Smith in 10, by Witherspoon in 11, by Tyson in 5 and in 3, and by Lewis in 7. He was more than holding his own in all of these losses before getting stopped... except the Tyson fights... he did do better vs. Tyson in their first fight though, he even rocked him.
Bruno had a Glass Jaw and no stamina and was very mentally fragile. Morrison while having a Glass Jaw did have heart. A lot of it. I think Bruno would put Morrison down a few times in the fight and Morrison would savagely and embarrassingly KO Bruno once he got tired.
Would pick Bruno in less than four rounds. I think he would try charging in to catch Bruno's weak chin which would be fatal. A prime Bruno is leagues better than an aged, forn down Ruddock.
Bruno never got blown out early by a Michael Bentt type either. This was one of those fights I wished would have been made in the 90's.
Could go either way, but my instinct is that Tommy comes out fast and gets him in the first few rounds. But a good case can be made for Frank, for sure.
