He's always resented the fact that the American population didn't get behind him, ever since back in the day. He was all "Pretty Boy Floyd" all-american dude. Then he realized he wasn't getting the support he thought he deserved, so he became a "heel" and now he's got the notoriety he's always wanted. He always has praised the British fans and their unconditional love of Ricky Hatton, win lose or draw. He always felt like Americans only like you when you win, and as long as you stay undefeated.

Unfortunately, we now all pay the price for this belief, because he's been a bit of a non-risk-taker the past few years. He's just more-or-less a young boxer scorned by the business. Kinda sad.

People of all races say what Bernard says about their own all the time.Mexicans, Japanese, Puerto Rican, even some of my Jewish friends profess that some of their own are either too one way or another. so what's the big deal when black folks say it?

If Barack Obama were fighting Pacquiao it would be different. Pacquiao is a politician. Pacquiao transcends sports. Floyd is just a boxer. There are plenty of other black boxers just as great with just as much name recognition.

Also I don't see Floyd doing enough to win black America or America in general to his side. ****ing throwing money at the camera? Yeah Floyd, brilliant way to win support. Counting a million dollars? Brilliant. Showing off your big house? Brilliant. That does not win people over and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why.

Giving out turkey on thanksgiving is a start, but it's not enough. Floyd you'll have to build boxing gyms throughout the ghettos of the USA. You'll have to do what Magic Johnson did, build stuff and bring jobs otherwise don't expect black people to give a **** about you.

Learn from Roy Jones Jr. He is helping storm victims.
    Thats how you win support.

Thats not at all true. Lots of boxers are liked by the fans and have huge followings.

Sugar Ray Leonard was popular. George Foreman. Mike Tyson. Ali. Holyfield.

Many fighters are popular like this. It has to do with their personality, their fighting style, their heart, the sort of things Pacquiao seems to have more of than Floyd.

Its not that Black America doesn't support Floyd! It's that we have had plenty of great black champions to cheer on. We have plenty of fighters now to cheer on and follow. Floyd is a black man in America and he will always be a minority.

Pacquaio has a whole country behind him and he is the best fighter that country has ever had. We been thru great champions since Joe Louis and when they dynamics of America was different then he had a whole Race behind him.

It's 2011 and a Boxing Champion is the least of our worries or concerns as Blacks in America today!

My respect for Floyd dropped tremendously when he said he fights for money, not fans, not legacy. **** that noise. You admire the love Pac gets, then start treating your fans like they're more than just saps who are lucky enough to watch your 'greatness'

You have two fighters currently. Andre Ward and Floyd that are the most marketable.

The jury is still out on Ward who doesn't fight outside o Caliifornia. He's still building his name but I think he's not as good as they SAY.

You have to be honest about Floyd. There's not a lot of African Americans that put up with his BS outside of the ring.

After that, you guys are DONE!!:yep

American fans period are fickle. Black fans are just American fans.

FMJ is overwhelmingly supported by Black America. Sad part is that Boxing just isn't supported in America. Kids care more about Basketball and Football than Boxing. Look at the marketing strategies of the Alphabet organizations placed next to that of the NFL and NBA? It is a wonder that Boxing is even doing as well as it is.

Floyd Mayweather paints himself as the villain. In 24/7, in interviews, in pre-fight promotions, Floyd relishes being the bad guy. Than he cries when the fans don't like him. You can't have it both ways Floyd.
