Round 6

Beltran picks off some jabs from Bogere and tries to hook his head off. He misses by a hair. Beltran now lands power jabs coming forward. Bogere is selling out to the body, diving in low behind right hands. Shoeshines by Bogere. Beltran gets on top of him and they wrestle. Bogere pops off an uppercut before the break. Right to the body by Bogere. Beltran tries to jab with him but Bogere's lands just a moment sooner and jolts him slightly. Quick jab to the body by Bogere. Beltran throws a wide hook and Bogere ducks it. They stand toe to toe and infight. Good uppercut by Bogere. Byrd breaks them apart. Bogere keeps throwing uppercuts, a few of them low. Bogere works his right hand, hitting around the kidney area as they spin around together. Beltran lands a good left hook on the break.

Overall Bogere round, busier.

Round 7

Quick halting jabs to the body by Bogere. Beltran can't get close. Whipping left hook by Beltran from outside, makes glancing contact. Bogere nearly gets guillotined by another long left hook while using upper body acrobatics. Bogere is throwing stiff jabs before clinching. Bogere is scoring and neutralizing Beltran well. Now it degenerates into a brawl again as Beltran keeps smashing. Beltran lands better. Tie up. Solid 1-2 by Beltran, only clipped Bogere but buzzed him!! Bogere is against the ropes and wraps his arms around Beltran. Bogere jabs to the body. Now a pair of jabs into the face as Bogere chases Beltran across the ring. Beltran is getting Bogere to come forward and trying to use his own momentum against him by timing a big counter left hook. it doesn't quite work. Bogere is landing lots of jabs. Now an uppercut as he slips a Beltran left.

Very tough round to score. Bogere was hurt but did the better work on the whole.

 

Round 8

Bogere pecks with his double jab. Beltran is circling and throwing long right hands. Bogere is still winning the jab battle with the taller man. Beltran dips down and digs a HARD LEFT HOOK TO THE BODY!! Bogere is BADLY HURT!!! He tries to hold and winds up tackling Beltran!! It's ruled a knockdown!! Wait, no. It isn't!! Bogere definitely went down from a body shot there!! He keeps holding on. Beltran is warned for grinding with his head in the clinch. Good uppercut by Beltran. Bogere keeps holding on. More uppercuts by Beltran. Bogere tries to pop some quick jabs when holding doesn't work (as Beltran himself is uncooperative and Byrd is right on top of them to split up any attempts). Right hand lead by Beltran! Bogere grabs him in a headlock! Nasty uppercut by Beltran. Bogere clasps both forearms around Beltran's head. Right to the body by Bogere. They exchange wild punches, missing. Bogere winds up with his back to Beltran, who DRY HUMPS HIS ASS!! atsch :rofl

Robert Byrd admonishes him, "Don't be doing that stuff!!"

Bogere looks like a miniature Hasim Rahman (against Holyfield) with the swelling over his left eyelid now.

 

Round 9

Wild stuff. Beltran is just slinging his hands in there, trying to catch Bogere with whatever he can. Bogere is tired, but still dancing around on the outside (stumbling a bit at times) and popping jabs high and low. Huge windmilling overhand right by Bogere catches Beltran coming in! Bogere is warned sterned for a low blow. Robert Byrd put on his serious face. Last warning. They come together and both grimace at an accidental headbutt (the dozenth so far tonight, at least). Bogere lands a good shot and they butt heads AGAIN. Beltran now lands a right to the body and spins Bogere back into "spooning" position. Does Beltran want to fight Bogere or **** him?? atsch

They must feel he has more of a lead than there is on my card...or they think he's in danger of getting KTFO and want to just risk settling for the draw by giving this one away.

 

Round 10

Beltran is slamming through with long left hooks. Bogere ties up. Beltran is trying to catch Bogere with a huge shot, but isn't jabbing. That's where Bogere is outsmarting him; using the jab while backing up to keep Beltran measured as the Mexican hooks away and throws big rights at air. Beltran powers through with a left hook. Another. Bogere holds. Shoeshine by Bogere.

All three of us arrived there in different ways; fascinating.

 

A correct knockdown ruling would have given Beltran the win on my card, as well as Farhood's and Menefee's. :think

Nothing wrong with those cards. Obviously there were a good few swing rounds there. Any where from a narrow Beltran win to that range for Bogere can be argued (but no wider for Bogere, and nothing more than a 96-94 win for Beltran).
