well i already heard him before stating the "health' case when he retired back in 2008 and passed on a big fight with cotto. he is just repeating that now when he retired and is on tha act of passing now the megafight with pacquiao. it's fair enough reason but i think it's too coincidential that both cotto then and pac now is regarded as floyd's biggest threat and challenge at welter.

about the getting not praise stuff, i think it's BS coz everyone would be praising him if he beats pacquiao. many would be giving him props just to for him to get inside the ring with pac win or lose.

well at least you still want this fight. as a floyd fan, what is your thought on floyd's current interest on this fight? do you think he is really not interested on this fight that's why he is saying these things?

he's right he won't receive the respect or credit he should get...however...that doesnt mean he shouldnt back up his claim that he is the best....he's gotta fight Pac no matter how you cut it!

Floyd would be 42 years old by that time, by the way do you give Pac credit for beating a 39 years old Mosley and maybe 38 years old JMM?

It isn't about supporting Pac or Floyd, it's about the blind idolatry you guys put in one guy, you may be grown men but act like sissy girls in love with Jonas Brothers or ****** Bieber

Very clear that Mayweather, Jr is wary of not just being beaten by Pacquaio and taking away his precious 0 loss, but also taking a severe, life-threatening beating, now that he has seen what Pacquaio has done to Shane, Margarito and Cotto.

This is a tone of a confused guy who now recognizes the possibility of going to a permanent vacation because of a one man who took away everything he used to have.

I think Pacquaio is in Mayweather's mind, and he is helpless about it.

I recall there being a buzz among hardcore fans for a Cotto fight. But, nothing remotely close to the clamor of the public for his two fights prior, or this one. However, it's a fight I would've liked to have seen.

As far as the praises go. He won't get full credit for the win. The excuses are already being formulated. If he makes it look easy against Manny, which he has the talent to do, he will be criticized for not being "exciting" enough, not "engaging" enough, or just flat out being a "runner", or that Manny's "slipped too far", has "bad shoes", "bad socks", "legs cramps", etc. Or if it's competitive, as in the ODLH fight, or when Hatton had a few semi-successful rounds, he will be seen as overrated. Even though Pac is considered the greatest in the world, atm, the bar is set higher for Floyd, IMO.

Of course, I still want to see the fight. I think Floyd's interest is waning to an extent because, he put all his effort into making this fight in Dec '09/ Jan '10. Once he was able to make his money in the Mosley fight, trying to haggle with Arum and Pac, I'd imagine became less interesting. I'm unsure of his exact level of interest at this point. But, I assume he knows he will have to at least give this another try, to salvage his reputation. I also assume his purse for this fight will have to exceed what he was able to make in the Mosley fight. That may be tricky with Arum's hand in the pot. Not to mention, his opponent is taking him to court.

What you said wasn't relevant to the topic. We were not talking about who'd win the fight.

If you were trying to make a point that is relevant to the topic, and it went over my head, by all means please make it clear for me.
